I thought people might be interested to know about a couple things I learned after 24 hours.
1st thing is all the door/lock and lighting settings are still here. 2nd,
The sound quality is way better than the etune head unit.
3rd, All the Toyota remote services (the paid stuff on the Toyota app) is all working.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.
One last thing, Trail grid pro refunded the difference to me since it went on sale right after I purchased it.
Trail grid pro is a great company to work with

Installing mine and it looks like there is a entire black connector from the oem harness that isn’t used?

no other plug to go in, and I see two white connectors mid harness that aren’t plugged into each other and no mention of install? Any input anyone who’s installed?

 

I had two unused plugs. Are you keeping sirius? That 3rd one might be for sirius antenna. I've had mine installed for almost a week and no issues. I should have took pics

 

I am keeping Sirius, I have that connection squared away, mines 2021, sr5, the plug I am talking about on the back of the oem is like a 20 pin, black connector from the oem. I’m guessing it just goes nowhere ha

Why are people choosing this for wireless CarPlay over the cheaper ax6000? Is it just the additional screen size? I’m a little worried the stick out will look weird from the seats

 

For me yes it was the screen size that sold me on this one. I don't mind that it stick out a bit personally.

 

I chose the 9500es because the Sony ES line has been my go to since the 90s and because of the screen size. BTW the screen looks great when installed

 

Is there any standard options that don't work on this unit, that work on the stock radio?
I have a 23 off road, non JBL and am looking to upgrade the HU.
I don't want to lose any functionality from what the standard HU gives me.

Only real reason I'm looking to upgrade, is because I installed new speakers, Kicker mids and tweeters on the front, and rockford fosgates in the rear doors. I was messing around with the balance and found out the rear speakers are so underpowered it's almost laughable.

 

Everything in my vehicle is retained that I had before in my sr5, I believe in off roads you lose the center cluster telling you the songs names etc and compass? I could be wrong

 

On my 2021 sport 4x4 double cab everything is still there. The best part is that if you order from Trail grid pro the maestro rr is programmed to your vehicle. That makes it super simple
