That is cool. He's racing the YZF. I don't think he will make the show though. Hope he does.

 

So this should help sort of explain what I was trying to say about Webb's deal. Basically KTM retains his rights for the year (end of September.) He went into the year only with SX confirmed. Then he said he wanted to race Outdoors early in the SX season. Then a couple weeks before he got hurt (which Ian says was after Daytona) he decided he did not want to race Outdoors. The part that he doesn't say is I heard he was trying to line up a ride for WSX on a Yamaha (to get used to the bike for next year.) Anyways, KTM wouldn't let him out of the contract to do that, but he didn't have to race Outdoors (he just couldn't race anywhere else either.) So then after he was cleared from injury, he decided he would race Outdoors. So that hopefully explains it better. There are still some other details that I alluded to earlier in the thread, but I figured this helps explain it w/o me having to go into those specifics.

I give it like 3 races before he wads it up. It's just something about Kawasaki that almost makes you think it's systemic.

Anyone going to High Point or Budds Creek this year?

It's so weird watching the 450 class. Privateers are racing to place as high as 7th.

Jett just served a lot of people some humble pie, including myself!

 

I ate a piece of that pie also. I think Jett had a lot more time to work on his outdoor settings than Chase, plus I think Chase is having a little Championship hang over. I was a bit surprised that Webb did so good with such little time on the bike.

I'm on vacation In Croatia and did not have a lot of time for research, just a quick glance at Racer X injury report. I didn't see Marvin on it and assumed he was going to race, picked him on my fantasy team. Damm it!!!!!

Way to go Freddie, 9th place.

I just watched the race tonight. Kind of boring with the lack of riders on 450s.

 

I think Jett got a good jump and he rides flawless there. So Chase def had his pace in Moto 2, but probably felt like he would've had to override to try and make a pass. Not worth it. Once we hit Thunder Valley or High Point, then we will see more how these guys compare. I don't read too into that first race. Like I mentioned, Jett is really good at Pala and the dirt/conditions are really going to change as we head back east.

250s were good. Tough day for all the Yamaha guys, aside from Deegan. But he looked great. Looking forward to Rd2.

I finally got to get out to the track for a day. Been off the bike, since we had our baby (aside from 1 indoor session, after Christmas.) Hoping to start getting out a bunch this summer.

 

That dirt at pala did look pretty rough. It looked like there really wasn't anywhere to pass unless someone made a mistake. Most the 450 guys seem to just be happy to make it out of the first race. Chase did a full shock change for moto 2. Jett looked good. Think every 450 guy had issues beside Jett. The 450 class should still be interesting. Next week should be better once the 450's get their suspension tuned up.

250's were fun to watch. Those guys are wild out the gate.

Really cool to see Max ride well and compete with the other 250 factory riders. Dante Oliveira Factory KTM offroad racer and local kid to me showed up and raced Pala. He had speed, qualifying 8th but got 2 bad starts and came through the pack for a 15th and 12th for a 13th OA. Hopefully they allow him to run a few more.

 

Wow. There’s no one left. Should they just give the win to Jett and everyone takes the weekend off?

 

Bummer, for sure. And that means Jett will likely win a bunch (and has a huge advantage for the Title) so now we will have to hear about it constantly from moto media. Great.
