I just bought the adventure beak for my grom the other day. Waiting for that and one backordered fork guard to change up the front end :D

I rejetted the Navi and installed a quick turn throttle. I’ve only ridden it up and down the street but the quick turn throttle makes it feel so much faster now.

Once I get an exhaust I’ll mess with the carb some more. I did drill out the Welch plug over the air/fuel mixture screw so I can adjust it further.

    Oh… also need new grips.

I've been out at least one time each week since the event started in January. As I've said before, I'm in a very target rich area, and my count after today sits at 436 murals photographed.

Wife ended up wanting to come along to costco with me, so we took the 4runner, whomp whomp. I'm thinking I'm going to take the grom out here in a bit and have 1 in mind I can get to with it.

I'm going to be shocked if you don't win it. Flabbergasted, even.

I don't know if I posted this here but I purchased a new givi rear rack for my bonneville. It didn't fit the way they said to install it. So I had to cut the front shock mount brackets off and weld them to the outside. Then I had it re powdercoated.
Picked it up from the powdercoater today, sandblasted and recoated, looks like new.

    It clears the seat good.

it's not too big. I do have a top box plate that's going on it.
    20230527_170345.jpg
Again, I like the size, not to big.

Well I'm not a welder, lol. But I can weld. I have a nice miller mig welder, built my utility trailer. I can weld but if a guy is standing next to me that can weld better I'll hand him the torch, no shame. If I welded more I'd probably be better.

Looks good! I have the same one on my z900rs and it didn't fit out of the box either. I remember their products fitting better in the past. Here's mine with a givi top case again.20230411_131208.jpg

While I'm absolutely loving the couch on wheels life of the Warrior, I still have the itch for a more sporty bike. Just went and test rode a 2005 FZ6, man what a totally different animal. I'm used to a 5k redline, this thing doesn't even start moving until 9k... Also feels like it weighs an ounce!

It's a deal for the right person, but I think I'm gonna end up passing on it. Fork was leaking all over the left front rotor, and it's been sitting with the same shit gas since 2020. It had a miss at idle and stumbled at lower rpm. But only 8k miles, new battery and tires, $2800 asking price. Person bought it and put a total of 50 miles on in 3 years

I miss my 2009 FZ6! Did the whole skyline drive / blue ridge parkway, but I had saddle bags and a top case. Fun bike

It seems like it would be a very enjoyable bike to live with for sure. If it ran right and didn't have the fork issue I wouldn't have even thought twice about it. But I just don't wanna open up a can of worms. Could be a tank of fresh gas and a fork seal away from being perfect, or it could be a nightmare. If it sits around and gets even cheaper I may still take the chance

I'm definitely going for it on this event. That being said, there are a few Iron Butt veterans using this as a practice run for the IBR so there's no guarantees.

Meeting some friends for breakfast tomorrow in Annapolis, MD and I have roughly 25 murals there stored in my GPS.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Those are sweet bikes, the newer ones have a motor that is better balanced than the previous gens.
I have had a couple 690r models. They have a lot of power for a single, and pulls like a tractor.
Older ones had a different steering angle and felt more off-road in geometry.
At hwy speeds going straight it gets old pretty quick. They are built for the backroads, twistys, intown commute, and FSRs. They are comfy out of the saddle with wide pegs and a bar riser.
The new 701 in enduro or SM are pretty sick.
I am always in the market for one, just looking to get a tricked out/lightly used; that has all the goodies, and is of this gen. Maybe another year I am thinking.

This is a 4 part ride that is easily linked together in the southeast. (N GA, TN, NC).
