What front bumpers have served y'all well in terms of dumb deers running in front of the taco unexpectedly? ARB is the gold standard, but curious to hear other contenders as well.

Also, suspension to assist with the new load?

I'll jump on here because I've been wondering something similar...

Exactly how fast can I hit a deer with an arb bumper "safely"?

Threads I've seen on here mention hitting in a range anywhere from 30-65 mph and all they had to do after was "hose bambi off after" lol

I don't think there's ever been a magic plow-all bumper. The arbs and ranch hands are going to be as close as you get, but even they aren't bulletproof.

Personally, I just slow down at dusk on deer-frequented roads, to a speed where I can sight the squirrelly fuckers and lock the brakes in time. (And yes, it is possible.) I'd rather avoid em than plow em.

Haha I'm not looking to go out deer massacring, but if I can avoid 1 suicidal deer doing damage every 50,000 miles I'll be happy.

Whoever said 65 is lying, even for a smaller deer. Lol I just did the math...if you hit a 150 lb deer at 65 mph that is equivalent to 21,100 lb ft. Of course the deer cannot withstand that force but even a tenth of it would be enough to bend the hell out of the bumper.
I've seen bent frame rails from a deer strike.
ARB is best and really only bet as no others offer any real protection except from 5mph parking lot dings

I knew a guy that built what was essentially an inverted cow catcher for his truck. His theory was to knock them down and under the truck saving the body. He owned a body shop for what it's worth.
