Am I just crazy or does it look like theres still more threads to go on that golden bolt? Does the bolt not slide up and down?

When trying to fit 6x9 speakers in the front panels you need to remove some material on the plastic speaker housing for them to fit.

It's just there temporarily which is why it looks out of place.

Got this nasty dent in the bed at Windrock Park in January. Was climbing a muddy ledge and slid over and whacked the root of a tree. Busted my tail light too as seen in the first two pics. Tried to get the dent out, and I could have used a slide hammer to get better results (and I may do that in the future) but it's a tough one since its on a corner. Decided it wasn't worth it to pay someone hundreds to remove it so I just painted it. Color matched paint (056 natural white- the best white Toyota ever made). Came out alright, I think the factory paint has been bleached after 24 years, so not perfect, but looks like a factory dent:D

    Please don't mind the fender rust... Another project another time...IMG_0767_Original.jpg IMG_3083.jpg IMG_3786.jpg IMG_3787.jpg IMG_3788.jpg

Steering linkage is what goes there. Truck is going to heim joint tie rods. I'm also on long travel so no swaybars for me

You should try and fit a football up in that spot and inflate it to push out the dent some.

Yeah I thought of that. There's a wall inside of there that kind of angles. Can't get anything in there

Ah okay gotcha. What’s the advantage of using heim joints over the normal ones and (because I plan on doing the TC lower uniball in the future too) is it better to get the heim version and get the heim steering arms just all at once?

heim steering is a lot stronger than the stock tie rods. It's good for if you wheel your truck pretty hard, otherwise there's no real benefit to heim steering on-road.

I know how that goes. Everytime I check one thing off the list two new things go on to the list.

Yeah, as Ian said, stronger steering is better if you wheel hard, otherwise, I'd still to factory TREs. Fortunately Total Chaos does make a version that adapts to the factory tie rod ends. Biggest con for most however is that the rack and rack mounts become the next week point. Eventually I'll get around to building a rack saver like @El Taco Diablo did so I take as much stress of the rack and mount as I can, but that's another project for another day.

It's kind of a pain in the ass, but I think it'll will definately be worth it. With being out 3.5 inches farther, I thought it was necessary (for me). I already had a couple problems with the rack/mounts last year on stock travel. I didn't want to push it.

If you have any questions about the rack saver, when you get in it, hit me up

(definately not a pro, but I can try to help )

    Speaking of the list...

    Updating the list and adding

Re-do my front Lower shock mounts DONE
Replace speedometer sensor (so I actually have a speedo again) DONE
Replace motor mounts with solid (poly) mounts. DONE
Total Chaos Lower Ball joints DONE
Fabricate new steering, replacing the inner and outer tie rods with Clevis and Heims. DONE
Fabricate and install steering rack slider. DONE

Going to see what part of below we can accomplish today.

Fix windshield washer fluid res or pump
Replace fuse for Passenger side compressor
    Finish shore power (charger mounts)
Install proportioning valve to delete LSPV
    Install new Superbumps (rear)
Replace 1.25 spacers with 3/4 spacers (front)
    Replace door handles
Fix running lights in grill and trans cooler fan (same circuit)
Remove broken skid bolts, repair, re-install skids.
Remove everything from cab and boxes, clean and repack for new season.
Re-do shifter for front transfer case.

I'm sure, while working on this, I'll add more to the list.
