Fires it right up. I have a stock engine but supposedly the cranking power is a lot more than factory battery.

MT-09. Not quite a liter bike but plenty powerful to get you grinning. And, that triple, once you get it spinning, it goes to your soul.

That’s what’s up. I don’t have instaface so that might be why it wasn’t showing for me.

I actually have some moves I’m making at work right now that may justify the monkey. Fingers crossed it works out.

That was in my top 3 bikes to look at along with the z900 and vfr800. But the prices on em are crazy right now. I know I loved the 07s handling and weight, to have a similar chassis with a lot more power would be great! Did just over 1100 miles this week on the cruiser, and I did have a boatload of fun. But it's just so much bike to throw around. I really miss the lightness of a naked. Though I admit I've been spoiled by the batwing, it's so nice on the cold rides

The yamaha i3 in the MT09 is a phenomenal powerplant. IF i was to of replaced my ole honda 919 naked bike with a modern naked bike the yamaha MT09...or probably the XSR900 would be it for sure.

Current 2023 XSR900 with the gold and yamaha blue..... lawdddddy *drool*

Got up early this morning and rode 100 miles south to Annapolis, MD to meet up with some LD riding friends for breakfast. Managed to visit and photograph 21 more murals while we were there. A few samples:

Put about 225 miles on so far today. Stopped at home to drop Dianne off and grab some food. Going back out to go visit Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery to pay my respects to some folks.

Aa much as we need the moisture, I'm kinda over the unending rain and hail we've been having on all my days off. :pout:

Just go ride it in. Contrary to what would seem to make sense it hurts less to ride standing up in the hail than sitting down. That shit stings the thighs bad once it gets around 1/4”.

    LOL.

It's not the rain or hail that stops me per se, rather it's the mud slurry that my road becomes. Even with good tires, that I don't have, my experience level would not be conducive to keeping it rubber side down.

Edit for pic. It's wet as hell.

You can make it through that. These bikes are meant to get dirty and get dropped. Break it in the right way.

Making lemonade out of lemons. The fab work required to make the Givi rack fit my T120.
Kind of a long video but it shows the whole process, some might find it interesting.

If I had a garage/shop to clean it up in, sure. As the limited to no skill mechanic with nothing but wet grass and mud, I'll pass. I also don't have a support network if anything goes wrong. Once I get my crash bars on and some more experience it'll just be the cleanup to worry about.

Crash bars and hand guards make it better for sure. The other day I pulled up in a fairly crowded parking lot to meet some friends and practically threw the bike on the pavement. There was more of an incline to the side than I thought so when I put my foot down it just kept going and the bike went with it. Stepped over the bike as it fell and walked away like it was all planned and because the bike had protection there was no damage at all.

Rite rite. I found myself looking at the FE350's last night. But damn, a small tank (2.3 gal),. granted it doesn't need to be huge either.

Been thinking about putting my HF box on my little rack, and using hood quick release pins to detach. The Kriega US-5 helps, but it might make more sense to have more storage back there.

    Thoughts?

I always slap bigger tanks on them. Both my 250xcw and my 500exc have Acerbis tanks. 890 doesn’t need it.

The low slung tanks on the 890r have made riding harder off-road tracks way more manageable ;)
