Getting winter mode sorted. I'm going to look into a small diesel heater if I actually get out and spend more time in the backcountry this winter.

Last week I mounted the cargo box and the was happy to see that tent can still open with the existing struts.

I also added a mirror tint to the rear window for privacy and to keep the tweakers from window shopping.

Installed some chalk bags in the back of the truck to use as beverage holders and a spot to stash wax, small tools, and other small items.

The bags are a bit large for cans but a koozie and a couple cans of ski wax will solve that. The wax fits perfect and this will keep it easily accessible.

First step was to modify a spot weld nut to fit in the T-Slot
    [IMG]

I left a longer tab on the nut so it wouldn't spin and I could tighten it after inserting into the track.

    Assembled and ready to install.

Had to go to vegas for work so I decided to drive and explore a few places that I've wanted to check out in the past but haven't for one reason or another.

It was also a good excuse to ignore emails after what has been a crazy 6 or so weeks of long days.

Is any of your eastern Oregon route on the BDR? A bit further east into the Wallowa valley is fracking amazing. Heading north east out of OR into WA is pretty rad as well, I think it was called devil’s canyon or something. It looks like your current path is along Blue Mountains maybe which is also pretty fracking amazing. Olympic peninsula I was gorgeous, if you are spending any significant time there I would suggest a stop in Port Townsend for pizza and or coffee(sunshine coffee company). Marrow stone island is beautiful, Fort Flagler has shit tons of walking/hiking trails and a lot of military history.

The return trip will likely be through eastern OR. We were planning on some wine tasting in Walla Walla then heading south and taking high rock canyon into the black rock desert.

Appreciate the tips...I'll do a bit more research this month as we work map out the return route in a bit more detail.

A friend of mines pops started a bank in Palo Alto. Eventually bought out by Comerica. They moved to WW afterwards and bought a restaurant called The White House or something like that. I believe it’s still there but owned by others now

Walla Walla is in a beautiful part of WA, that’s for sure.

Tracked down a glycol leak in the webasto today and replaced the crushed jockey wheel mount (I crushed it jackknifing the trailer to turn around on a shelf road in Death Valley that was washed out).

Took me longer to empty the shelf and clean the glycol out of the mats than it did to fix the leak...definitely glad it wasn't worse.

The 2 clamps in the front were snug but the other 4 clamps took at least 2 full turns to tighten with the leaker taking over 3 turns.

I originally swapped the jockey wheel travel mount with the mount on the drawbar so I could unhitch the trailer after I crushed it and just put the jockey wheel in the bed of the truck when hitched. Ended up buying a couple used off someone that swapped their jockey wheel for an ARK setup. Got 2 mounts for the price of 1 so now I have a spare incase we find ourselves in a similar predicament where we have to jackknife it to turn around.

How’s the Patriot overall? Is quality as good as claimed?

The leak at the webasto is a common issue. If it leaks again I'll replace the hose clamps. I have a pending warranty request but it is all related to parts Patriot sources...the plastic clips that hold down the coffee bar suck and one has broken, the plastic piece in one of the awning poles broke so it will not lock in an extended position, and the zipper they use on the awning bag it trash so they are sending me a new/redesigned bag. The only thing I feel is on them is the design of the awning support is not strong enough and has begun dropping after off-road use. They've designed supports for that and I'll be adding them to the trailer.

Overall I'm still happy with it and feel it's the best off-road trailer on the market.

Relocated the anderson plug from the top of the bumper to behind the license plate. Hacked it up a bit but function over form I suppose. Once the plug is installed you can't even see my sloppy work. One more reason to replace it with a @RelentlessFab high clearance rear at some point I suppose.
    69B10CAC-9F71-4B72-B1E8-10658835FE18.jpg

It is a Trailer Vision plug cover that I ordered direct. The regular anderson plug is sandwiched in the housing and there's a rubber gasket where the wires enter. I finished it off with some electrical tape after snapping the pic.
    30D625A1-58EB-4A3C-A459-1A2C4DC905A0.jpg

Not proud of this hack job but whatever. I used a dremel for the verticals cuts but there wasn't room to use it for the horizontal cuts so I had to use a 4" angle grinder. I was going to use a hacksaw to finish the cuts and get clean corners but it wa slow going and I got impatient so I cut a bit more with the angle grinder knowing that it would be covered with the completed install.
    D2B91A2A-255C-40CF-A017-A4F5B8D1EB0B.jpg

When I picked up the trailer in Oklahoma I didn't know that it only charged via an anderson plug when towing and not off the 7-pin so I had them install an anderson. They fished the plug through the opening to lower the under-bed spare, blocking access so you had to get under the truck to lower the tire, and it was a pain to plug in.

Both my body and the truck are getting boosted this month...5 infusions coming up over the next 2 weeks to get my blood counts back where they need to be then the long tube headers and supercharger will be going on the week of 6/19.

I have a nasty creaking coming from the front of the truck that I need to track down too. I'm guessing it's either the LCA or radiator support bushings but need to verify.
