I spent the weekend living the simple life. I'm really enjoying this pop-up!

    PXL_20230529_000148113.jpg

I got some quality kayak time in on the Chippewa river.

Side note: these sunglasses met their watery demise while I was goofing around today. That's the second pair of Costas I've donated to this river. I might have to go back to cheap sunglasses. :annoyed:

    PXL_20230528_161652207.MP.jpg

I found a nice island and tried to catch a few catfish, but all I got were wimpy nibbles. No luck.

    PXL_20230528_202528326.jpg

Today I managed a handful of Smallmouth and a snake northern. Nothing huge, but a few quality fish. Took a picture of the first one for evidence.

It sounds like everyone had a good weekend! I'm looking forward to seeing a bunch of you guys in 2 weeks! :woot:

IMG_2026.jpg It looks like the clan had a good mix of fun times and some fun projects this weekend. I made progress on my deck reconstruction. A neighbor is a building inspector for a nearby town, so any questions I have are quickly answered by him. He came this morning to answer a couple questions and just shook his head at some of the things the last guy did! Lol after looking at it, I’m surprised the old deck lasted as long as it did, and I’m glad I’m fixing it now!

You need to get one of those neck things that you put on your glasses that floats.

    Definitely!

Or, I could just stop doing stupid things...

So, I should probably just get a floaty thing for the next pair. :anonymous:

Driving through Duluth the other day was a pain in the ass. We had a go a Petco store for meds for the dogs. Between construction and the fact that Duluth is built on a cliff made for an interesting drive. The trucks brakes were working overtime.

Yeah, it's a quirky town, I kinda like it though. They also have some great flow-style mountain bike trails as well as great views.

That was just upstream of Hubbard's landing, so closer to Durand. But, I usually float down from the ramp on H, and our place is just a little downstream from Meridean. So, I float through Meridean pretty regularly.

I'm always careful about landing on those islands. I know what you're talking about with the quicksand. It can get sketchy if you're not careful.
