    All the 2024 Tacoma's have a 2.4l turbo 4 cyl engine.

The hybrid version just has an electric motor between the 2.4l turbo engine and its transmission.

I get what they’re saying in that video, but that still doesn’t verify that it’s the same exact system in the new Tacoma. And if in fact, it is the same system, then I go right back to my original statement on here that the four-cylinder motor will be aggressively inadequate when towing when you have run out of battery power because it is not a V6 TwinTurbo that is in the Tundra, which is twice the motor as the one they’re offering in the Tacoma. In other words, you don’t get the pretty torque numbers that they’re trying to post up as soon as you’re out of battery power. You’re right back to a car engine in a truck.

If this were the case (and maybe it is), the Tundra boys would be talking about it.

The engine is directly connected to the wheels, it is not just an electric motor, in fact the electric motor is relatively weak compared to the combustion engine.

Also, the towing capacity of the non-hybrid will likely be the same, so if the battery is depleted, you’ll probably still have better towing torque than the current V6.

Not trolling, just trying to weed though all the bullshit to get to the fax about the new Tacoma on here, all the facts are lost within all the other gibberish going on on this thread that is supposed to be ONLY for the new Tacoma. It’s hard to read through the 6 to 10 pages of non- 4th generation Tacoma gibberish going on every single day.
And the 3rd gens are not gonna last forever.

The engine alone will have enough to tow if the battery depletes. Just don't tow more than they say or don't buy the truck at all. The battery is always being recharged.

Why would they be talking about it, they gave them a sufficient engine without electrical?

Let’s see you go through the hills of West Virginia with 6000 pounds and a four-cylinder engine

And next time don’t be afraid to tag somebody so that they can see what non-useful gibberish you have wrote about them that doesn't pertain to the topic.

Buy a full size , the max tow is 6000lbs on this truck . I think 6500 on the non hybrid. Have you even watched any of the videos where this info is available. There is a really good video the tfl guys did with Sheldon the engineer you should watch. It will answer some of these questions until we get some real life driving experience videos in 4 months

They have already said the towing on the non hybrid is 6500 lbs and the hybrid is 6000

Do any of these videos actually specifically talk about the brand new fourth generation motor in the Tacoma

Not in super detail because no one has one to do that yet . If you are looking for one like the one posted on the Tundra you will have to wait . I know this engine is already in a different vehicle though but I can't remember which one , maybe on of the other guys have that info on here
