Once again, these were "my" pros and cons, the way the I saw them. A bunch of others have contacted me and said that their screws were lined up, well mine isn't. I am happy that you are pleased to carry it from the top. So am I. My overall thought was then if they added the handles on the sides, seemly to have the ability to carry from the sides (hence the term "handles,") then they should have a balance point......which they don't. And yes, compared to the "Eagle" it is a great buy. But overall, it really is just a normal jack put on bigger wheels. The average 3 ton jack (even not from HF) is way less then $300. I was very clear on if a person was using it off road and shop, then absolutely it is a great buy for them. But it is a little heavy and awkward just to throw in the back of your rig (once again without a optional mounting that you may be able to purchase at the store right next to it) to take it off road. But if you read the last thing I wrote, I reiterated that I was still very happy with my jack and it will be a great addition when I am working on my own rig or other rigs.

I understand that. I'm not saying your feelings are not valid. But I'm saying if you are in the market for these types of jacks $300 is a steal. So I really think it shouldn't be a con. I honestly don't think the side handles are for carrying. More for moving it around on the ground. Just my thought. No way this is just a normal jack on bigger wheels. It's so much more. A normal jack is not built like this one. The Badlands jack is way more over built than a normal 3 ton garage jack. Look at their 4 ton. Looks flimsy compared to the Badlands. I never saw a regular floor jack have a locking handle or raise even close to this high. And add in the extension and WOW! It's getting up there. No ordinary jack can compete. And how many floor jacks have a wrap-around full length steel skid plate? How many have a Handle lock? And not many have stainless steel hardware. Anyways it sounds like you have a dud. I suggest returning it to HF. They have excellent customer support.

my purchasing one went similar in that the store clerk the night prior told me they didn't have any in stock at the time i was there. went the next day after work and talked to a different clerk and she mentioned it was in the back under some other stuff. could have been a mistake, could have been a "hey save me one" kinda deal. either way, i got one. first and only jack for my garage and plan on using it quite a bit as i explore doing my own oil changes, tire rotations, and whatever else i can to justify that initial expense.

Just purchased my jack and I love it. There really are many reviews out there that I've found, such as: Classy's Garage (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBZhii_dYZU) Or this negative review: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UD3xbYYgiOc)

There are several "mount options" that I see available, including weld kits, bed/surface mount stops, and fully welded and painted. The mounts I've seen so far: AC-Fab, 911Motorsports, DeterFab on EBay, and ProEagle's website.

Ultimately, the use-case for anyone is their preference. As I typically change tires or work on my vehicle on longer, more excruciating trips - this seems like a great purchase for me, personally. I have never had a good time with large bottle jacks. I'll be going with 911 Motorsports mount and figure out if I want to mount it to the back of the truck bed, or somewhere over the wheel wells if it works.

Beware the mount from Pro Eagle will not work with the Badland jack. Also their sweet cover sadly won't fit either :(

Just picked one up this weekend, in stock. I have to say this jack is 2 or 3 times better than I expected. I didn’t get it to carry off road. I have a hi-lift for that.

My garage is a strange setup here in Wyoming. I have to wheel the jack across the lawn then the driveway is packed gravel. My Craftsman 3 ton low profile was a bear to use on that terrain. I also like to spread out a tarp and drive onto it and that was an issue too. This off road jack is going to be a game changer. Worth every penny. I was looking at the Pro Eagle but couldn’t justify the price in this economy. When the Badlands was announced I knew that was my ticket.

I did see Pro Eagle whining in Harbor freight’s instagram announcement post comments. Not really sure what they did that was so original. Floor jacks have been around since time immemorial.Did they look up the original designer and pay royalties? The add big wheels and a skid plate to something that has long been in the public domain. It appears both are made in China.

So Update on Mine......I did return it and swapped it out for a different one that did have the pin lined up to the groove in the handle. Looks like I just got the one that didn't get quality controlled. All good now.

Y'all mount the jack with either of those mounts?

I just picked up this jack and am probably going to go with the Ebay/Etsy Deter Fab one.

I like where i used to have my HF 1.5 ton jack mounted, but i thing this thing will be too big and heavy to do the same:

    Plastic wheels on a jack?

Why would anyone be OK with that?

Mod list... Well, my paint is factory.
My only complaint so far is that it rolls too easily. The gradient on a garage floor is enough to where this jack will not stay without rolling away (unloaded of course). I'm thinking I may need to add something to increase wheel friction slightly.
