I went with aftermarket intentionally after reading about how flimsy the OEM 4Runner windshields are.

Same. I'm very lucky to know someone who works for Abra. :D

Have to get a little work done during the day lol

Short story is they couldn't get my camera calibrated and now I have a permanent PCS see dealer error on my dash display. They said it was because of my lift but the more I read it seems that the aftermarket glass they use causes the issue. If they just change the glass not unplugging the camera and don't do a calibration you should be ok.

Well that makes me nervous :bananadead: They definitely said they are going to calibrate it. So what all does that affect? Just lane departure? or more than that?

Ouch, I was going to recommend a guy but you're way up there and he's way down here. I have a small lesson learnt mark on mine from the gravel roads we did in Wyalusing. Figure a resin fill will do it good.

From what I've heard Safelite always blames lifts for not being able to do the replacement at all or it throwing codes after. There's a ton of threads on here with horror stories. Definitely do some loght reading on here or reddit to see what all needs to be done.

Your not really lifted so they don't have an easy out like they did with me. I'm not tiring to scare you just making you making you aware.

All auto glass in this country is made by one of two companies. Doesn't matter what brand you buy, it's coming from one of two places and they have the exact same standards. AS1 rating for windshield AS2 for everything else.

Safelite are trash and will always try to weezle out of that stuff. Your local dealer could do the calibration. No sweat as they are required to do them by Toyota. Talk to your service manager and tell them that the insurance company doesn't want to do the calibration and the dealership should take care of it and work through the insurance company. If they refuse, call Toyota. They'll make the dealership do it for free. Or they'll make the dealership do it for you for free and then they can deal with insurance separately away from your time.

I'm wondering if he means the transfer case skid cross member that comes with aftermarket skids. His engine/trans skid is a big huge honkin one-piece beast. (Edit: working on my tiny phone screen, I see now he already clarified T case skid above.)

Yes I’m late to the thread, I hate first days back to work after long weekends. Why do all y’all break computers on holidays and make me do actual work?

Lol. Your very correct. Plus I was told by a friend if you shoot your windshield with a 9mm it won't crack much and stay that way for a long time. Lol

I tried kicking the windshield out of a vehicle that took a tumble. Not like in the movies, couldn't budge it.
