The pulling up on the bars always scared me since I'd end up going off balance left/right. I think my timing of pulling on the bars + popping the clutch is off. I was getting somewhere with wheelies a few years ago but never got to the balance point. I'm OK with using the rear brake to get the front end down but am not good at consistently popping the front wheel up.

 

It’s the same for anything. Practice on the smallest thing you can, but mainly it’s time in the seat.

He is a a good instructor. He was down at Highland Park in GA recently doing courses. Coo cat for sure.

 

To be honest, most of the time it’s people not having the right posture and loading the suspension. Even if you’re on a sport bike, and you can power wheelie, you still give the bike a little lunge before you blip it.
It’s a dance, it’s squat and flick and blip and go.

 

I will say that my 1190r requires less clutch to wheelie, with the grunt of the twin. But it’s all about the squat and pull… when I am showing people how to wheelie, we start out on my full suspension mtn bike.

 

I ended up adjusting the mixture screw again, took about 2.5 turns to raise the idle as high as it would go, then adjusted the idle screw to b ring it back down (but higher than where I had initially set it). It seemed to run fine with no backfires, lugging or bogging throughout the range so I'm going to call it good.

It still smells rich at idle but I'm going to let the pilot jet sit for now and reassess when I get the new exhaust on.

 

I'm kind of tempted to buy a Grom clone bike instead if I'm going to crash it anyways.

That dealership is a joke. Per the Honda website the destination charge is $200 and freight 100. Plus say $250 in tax. Where are they coming up with the extra $1,000???

 

They charge almost double the freight/shipping b/c Honda's is just an estimate, $495 for dealer prep, and a few more hidden costs. I can gladly wait until they hit the used market. People will buy those expecting them to be a "better" bike than what they are meant to be......so I can swipe one then

That crap is all too common in Southern CA. The problem is that there's a dumbass right behind you with more money than brains, so these dealers get away with it. There's a chain of dealerships here that even add dealer added markups on used bikes. Absolutely egregious.

 

its called a "market adjustment" aka Jack pack just jacking up the price to make some extra cash.
