Are Sport Coils the same as OffRoad coils?

Asking for a friend...(kidding)
I need some coils fast and was wondering if the trd sport coils are identical to the trd offroad coil springs?

 

The Sports have a Stiffer spring rate than the Off-Roads. They are an exact dimensional swap over.

You can get offroad take offs on facebook marketplace for dirt cheap as suspension go some with almost no miles on them.

 

The Sport springs are as stiff as the SR springs. They are so stiff, they will eliminate body roll.

 

So if one wanted less body roll with an SR, upgrading to Sport springs would be pointless?

 

Do you have info to support that? I’ve heard the opposite which was the reason folks said the off-road got the smaller sway bar.

 

I’m pretty sure all 3rd gen Tacoma springs are rated at 714#. It’s the shocks and sway bar that make a difference in handling.

 

That’s what I would say too, (I did hear the offroad had heavier rate springs but I have no proof of that, just words of others), but I too would suggest the shocks make the difference in ride quality, and sway bar to some extent.

I want to say on the Toyota parts sites, the springs between OR and Sport part #s were different though.

 

Time around here has led me to believe the springs are all the same, with the shocks and sways making the difference between models.

OP you need to replace your springs now, along with the botched install being corrected, right?

If sport springs are available to you local, cheap and fast, do it. The worst that happens is you find a better spring and take the time to learn DIY later on. Right now you are in a risky safety delima.

Found a set of take offs from a trd sport that I can get right away...
