    When I had my ‘69 Ram Air IV GTO my buddy had a ‘66 SS396 375hp 4-speed Chevelle. It was pretty beat up and needed a full resto. He had other projects going on at the time so it sat most of the time. We never did race but we did take the Chevelle out in front of his shop and pour bleach down. John Force white smoke burnouts for days.

    I was bummed when he sold it as is without restoring it. He came from a rich family and had more vehicles than he could deal with and never gave that one any attention.

    Every time I see a woody I think about the one I found between town and the ocean in Oceanside. California. Pretty sure it was a '48 Chrysler Town and Country convertible, and the wood was still there and might have been restorable... but the salt air had gotten to the metal and it was rotten to the core.

    Even if the metal was good enough to restore, to restore a real woody costs big bucks and time. So much so that most of the time a woody restoration far exceeds the end results monetary value. It’s a project of passion for sure.
