Cheap mods you are proud of

Not the chrome. The surround of the radio, and the vents on the left and right are grey in color. I wonder what they'd look like in mate black. Same for the background plastic of the cabin environmental controls.

 

Ohh, not planning to touch it, I like that color on the interior. I might end up repainting the surrounds if I can find a paint that closely matches Volk blast bronze, but painting pieces that big is just asking for chips and scratches.

be careful with the painting, a black pipe makes the water in that bitch dam near steam in a few hours.

 

Garage door opener button

 

I'm interested in knowing how you wired up your. I just finished a v2 of mine getting ready to add a 3 switch overhead panel with 2 button garage door remote.

Soldered some wires so I can use the short style switch as well as still use the buttons on the remote itself if ever needed and used some quick connect/disconnect connectors if I never need to take it out for easy access.

I didn’t get a good internal pic. This is another one I did on my Jeep which is why the button is a different color. It’s just a two wire momentary switch. I took the circuit board out of a existing remote and wired to the existing button contacts. I just taped over it for stability and then tucked it inside the console.

 

tell me more about that Lego head shifter knob! this is somethng that im likely going to want or need in my life! what would also be cool is a way to make that stud on top of the head be functional for push button automatics!

 

Nice! Yeah not to different from what I did I just kept the original remote housing on mine and drilled a access hole through the side and ran the wires through it.

 

finally broke down and bought some red zip ties to
hold on the emblem. Cavalbluetaco told where to find
the bolt on type BUT since I had it I may as well use it.

 

Should have fastened them from behind so the buckle portion is hidden behind the emblem. not too hard to correct if you wanted to.

 

true but was going to wait until I pulled off the grill to aim the driving lights
have been unable to find time at night to do that

@ tacotyusday was right and I finally pulled off the grill and corrected the issue LOL
due to my light bar I have to take the grill off to do it. But it does look better
