Driver sideview mirror wire connection

Make sure you cut the heat shrink and peel it off before pulling the spade clip. You might pull the wire off of the clip. That was my mistake. I went with Spotter Mirrors.

 

Just keep working at it. The first time is the hardest. Had the same issue when I did my Tundra mirrors. Just stick with it.

I didn't mess with any heat shrink like above, but might help?

 

I’ll give it one more go, I don’t want to mess with it too much and give Toyota a reason to void warranty on this part if there was ever an issue because of something so silly haha.

 

I still haven’t installed mine. It’s been like over 2 years haha

 

Haha, I give up, tried again this morning it doesn’t budge tore the heat shrink a little with pliers. Maybe they are using some kind of locking clip now? Saw somewhere else they had to completely rip off the mirror from the male portion.

Returned them it’s not worth the trouble to me. Tried for an hour with different methods all but cutting off the shrink wrap.

I have a 22 SR5. You must get the heat shrink off of the connection and then use a needle nose to pull the connection apart. Don't pull on the wire. Pull the base of the spade connector and wiggle side to side as you pull. Hope this help.

 

I may try this, does the heat shrink have glue inside? Haven’t seen any tutorials requiring the heat shrink to be removed and not sure why this would make a difference

 

I do not believe the heat shrink has glue. It is a tight fit. Make sure you get the heat shrink off of the whole connection before you pull.

 

Thanks for confirming, I did have to remove the heat shrink and then pry up both sides of the female spade clamp a little and it slides right off. Heat shrink is not adhesive lined which is why I was a little hesitant

I can not get these unplugged and there is adhesive on them i scrapped off around the edges. Still no luck...wtf
