Honestly my cheap ass would too, in a heartbeat. But it's not all up to me lol. Plus, long term investment wise you're better off buying a real house over a mobile home. I don't really know much about modular homes though but I assume it's the same

One could always buy in Arkansas

It's super cheap and isn't it one of those states that give people incentive to move out there?

I think Alaska is the only one literally paying people to move there, but AR is on the cheaper end cost of living wise. I think Mississippi is even cheaper but then you're living in Mississippi

Mississippi makes Missouri look like a paradise.

If it weren’t for other obligations, id move to AK or the Yukon in a heartbeat.

haha, our trip to MO last summer around the Jefferson City area was actually really pretty. Growing up I was mostly just familiar with the KC area and where my grandparents lived (Independence) which was not such a nice area.

Oh and Warrensburg, where my other grandparents lived. Which had this old timey Oregon Trail kind of town vibe until the college there got really big and it became a college town

Yeah it’s not bad over there. The paddle racing got me all over places around the Missouri River and I liked all of it. The Katy Trail looks like it would be a fun adventure if I had the time.

Southern MO has some nice little bits of tbe Ozarks too, and lots of great clear rivers.

Think that's the most off-road and off-grid setting you've posted yourself being in :luvya:

same, if I didn't have a family I would consider it. But Alaska has one of the worst violent crime/domestic abuse rates in the country which is pretty impressive given how few people live there.

It’s a really sweet spot; you have to drive through a field to get there.

Only went that area once when I was a kid, to Branson...I just remember it looking like a mini redneck Las Vegas strip lol.
