Yes, you can. You'll have to use a straight edge to outline the badges though, otherwise, it'll pull off of the badges too. And I would lay down some tape where the paint would speckle. (like someone posted earlier) It easily peels off where it's layed down heavy, but if its spotty, you'll have to use a bug sponge, clay, or some rubbing to get it off easier.

Just tape a square around the emblems. There is the gap between the emblem and body so when you spray it won't be solid at that transition. Allowing you to Peel it off the paint and not the emblem. I did my hubcaps and peeled it off the chrome Toyota emblem with no problem. And that gap is waaaay smaller.

I know this isn't a Jeep thread, but would this miracle spray work on my faded out jeep fender flares?

I'm not a plasti-dip expert but will that all hold up for a long time? I plasti-dipped my inner fogs and the driver side started peeling a few months after I sprayed it.

    Does Plasti-Dip count as a mod ?
^^ Dunno if it will hold up long term. It was relatively inexpensive to do.

Finished up everything but the wheels. More about that in a bit.

Oh, I guess I didn't take a pic with the license plate frame and the white letters on the rear flaps done.

And the grille surround is done. I did have to redo a few spots. Turned out okay. Decided that for now, I'll leave the lower valance as it is.

I have to say, I'd prefer a color matched grille. Gonna have to wait quite a while before I shell out the money for a replacement grille.

I had planned to start on the wheels today. I'm not sure I'm going to bother.
First off, the factory bottle jack is useless for the front end. I had to go and get a taller jack just to life the frame. I used the factory one to life the LCA. Lowered it back to the ground to loosen the lugs. Couldn't get the bitches loose. I had the wheels / tires rotated a while ago. My weak old ass couldn't budge them loose. Even with a cheater bar. So now I'm pissed off I can't get my damn wheels off. Time to stop for today.

I couldn't get the lugs off. Sure hope I don't have a flat when I'm out on the road.
2 jacks and stands are needed to lift the front end up to change a tire. WTF ?

I like how your badges and rear bumper came out! do you have an item number for it and does it seem to scratch off very easily or anything? for a color matched grille you should check out your local autoparts store i got some they had to order the color but they have most colors available and it matches great

Thanks. Item number for what ? The Plasti-Dip ? Comes in a few other colors besides matte black.

As for the grill, I may decide to try and paint it later on. All depends on $$$.

Did my wheels and badges last night. This stuff is awesome. Didn't even take the wheels off the truck. Removed the center caps and did them separate. Sprayed the whole wheel, lugs and all. Peeled the paint off the lugs when I was done. WINNING!

looks good, I got rid of all my chrome too. I used paint though and had to take an orbital sander to all the chrome and use etching primer. Not even starting to chip a year later!

Awesome job. Thats on my to-do list this spring. I am interested to see how long people get out of it, ie, ripping/tearing.

This may be a stupid question, but what did you use around the lettering so that the dip would not peel off between the lettering and tailgate? A box cutter or plastic blade??? This is definitely on my short list of things to do. Great job!
