Volunteers can participate in water chestnut removal on the following dates in these locations:

• June 10, Blackstone River (Central Falls, RI), 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
• June 13, 14, Turner Reservoir (East Providence, RI), 5-8 p.m.
• June 17, Lake Quinsigamond (Shrewsbury, MA), 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
• June 17, Turner Reservoir (East Providence, RI), 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
• June 20, Blackstone River (Central Falls, RI ), 4-8 p.m.
• June 24, Whitin Pond (Uxbridge, MA), 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
• June 27, 28, Turner Reservoir (East Providence, RI), 5-8 p.m.
• July 8, Lake Quinsigamond (Shrewsbury, MA), 8-11 a.m.

Volunteers are needed at each event to lift and carry buckets of plants on shore or to hand-pull the weed from the water by paddling kayaks and canoes. Participants are encouraged to bring their own watercraft; however, complimentary canoes and/or kayaks will be provided at most locations for a limited number of registered participants. Motorboat owners can contribute to the effort by ferrying the muddy plants to and from open water to shore where boat ramps are available. Local landowners with compost areas can also assist, by offering space for the removed water chestnut to decay, as it is safe to compost and will no longer continue to spread when out of the water.

 

So, we bought an off lease 2020 RAV4 XLE for my wife. 25K miles on it, so by Toyota standards barely broken in. Has all sorts of options that she'll love, but she especially wanted a power seat with lumbar support. Premium audio system, so she can connect her iPhone via Bluetooth.

Price wasn't cheap, but it wasn't horrible either. Since we tend to keep our vehicles forever, we picked a longer term loan and figure that if interest rates ever drop, we can re finance at a better rate.

It needed a couple of minor things corrected so we'll get it Friday.

 

I will never own a white vehicle again!


Also the truck still has a humm around 35mph and higher especially on deceleration. This is post new wheel bearings. So still something to diagnose. Have a couple things I'm going to try.

 

My wife had a white Dodge once and hated it. One of the things she hated the most was that the heat and light reflected right into her eyes. So, that was an absolute deal breaker for this car.

One thing that is interesting is that this has factory remote start and of course, keyless entry. She just has to make sure that she doesn't lose a fob as they are over $300.00 to replace and have programmed.

 

Does it sound like it's out back or middle of the truck?

 

To me it sounds like drivers front. Could be mid though

 

Hmm I'm not going to say for sure but I wonder if it's backlash in the rear end or tcase. My truck the backlash is really noticeable but it seems to be more of a regular cab manual thing

 

My truck has all kinds of noises.





I just keep driving it.

Nice..my wife has a 14 we got 4 years ago and loves it, her 2005 (bought after her 96 Tacoma frame rotted) was ours for 11 years.

Not sure on your year but I just got her a spare key/fob, was about $175. Now if you lose it and don't have a spare, $500 plus a tow. IMO do it sooner than later..and get a cheapo ground at the local just to get in the door if you have to.

 

The one we're buying is a 2020, so I don't know if there are any after market fobs. I got two aftermarket "H" keys for my 2019 Tacoma, but that was a whole different animal.

We'll have TWO remotes with the car and I might bite the bullet and order a third, just in case.

 

Toyota has a couple of Super White recalls…Infiniti have anything similar?

If it’s just the roof I suppose it’s a good candidate for a wrap assuming it’s not pearl (I forget, sorry). Since it’s the roof you can be a little less picky, I suppose.

 

They do but it's passed the date so they won't do anything.

I'm at the point with this thing that IDGAF lol. Front bumper has cracking paint. I literally taped the area, sanded, primer, white spray paint, and clear. Yes it's supposed to be a 3 stage pearl.....


Maybe one day I'll have it repainted just single stage white. But probably not.

 

The key fob has an emergency key to open the door, but it's a push button start. They're great when they work, but kind of make me nervous. They are supposed to have a dead battery feature that allows you to start the car once you get in. You put the fob right up to the steering column (I think) and then press the start button.

I'm just paranoid about losing one of the fobs. I suppose if we take a road trip both of us will have to bring a fob.

 

My MIL has had a 2020 XLE for three years and has had zero key related issues, fwiw.

 

The only issue I'm really concerned with is losing one. The sales guy said that we can bring the fob back and they'd change the battery if it died. I can't do much with modern cars or trucks, but I'm reasonably confident that I can change a battery in the fob.

My 2006 didn't even have a chip key. Here '07 Highlander has a chip key and for some reason we have about five keys plus the valet key. All of them, along with the two key fobs are going with the car when we trade it. I suppose I could tell the guy that we'll give him two keys with fobs, but the extra keys will be $275.00/each. I'd think it was funny, but I don't knw if he would.

In any event, I expect that they've already have a buyer for the car and it won't be on their lot. As bad the used car situation is right now, this is too old for any dealer to put on their used lot

 

My scan tool will do keys, I haven't tried any toyotas yet, but I know it will program keys

 

I had a couple of H keys done after I had remote start put in my Taco. The new RAV4 doesn't have keys, it's all in the fob. Well, except for the "emergikey" to get in if the battery dies. Those won't start the car though. I'm not even sure the car has an ignition switch. It has push button start like the higher trim level Tacomas. Do those even have an ignition switch?
