Sorta thinking about replacing the truck with a GX 460. Preferably a 2012/2013 if I can find a clean one. Before the grille started getting funky. The 14-19 are at least more tolerable than 2020+ though, which isn't saying much.
Might just go down to one vehicle.

I so see a fair few 4x4s around here but I haven’t gone out with anyone yet. All my trips have been solo.

    Why not a 200 series?

Didn’t you say it was mostly around Byrds that the trails have been really torn up?

They still haven't come down. The prices are quite frankly dumb, even if it is a Land Cruiser, I don't think they're worth what a lot of people want for em. GX is just fine and less precious.

Yea I was actually just wondering why the 200 series never bottomed out in price like the 60/80 series did back in the 2000s.

I should go to cars and coffee here in town. I think it might actually be tomorrow or next weekend.

So "the problem" was made worse by YouTube. It may be corrected by YouTube through an expose-type documentary.

There are a small number of YouTubers that have profited from damaging the trails. An expose documentary like "Meth Storm" to expose the Youtubers that have exacerbated the problem might actually turn it around. Who knows?

Not to pinpoint a business. But in that area ATVs are allowed to drive the highways like cars.

Bet you'll learn more talking to a group/gathering than you have all this time talking about trails on here or reading stuff on the internet.

A trail I recommended to someone last year is easily 10 times worse now due to mud slides, etc meaning you can't even read up on a trail from months ago expecting it to be the same now without checking it out personally or asking someone that was recently there.

That is a good group. All kinds of trucks go to it.

The fact that we didn't get a 300 certainly didn't hurt prices (last available model mentality) and the perfect timing with the boom of the overloading market coupled with their status as the sort of 'pinnacle,' platform, etc. I'm sure has helped keep used prices going. They're amazing trucks for sure, just kinda nuts what people are laying down even for high mile examples.
I'm not an overlandy dude so it'd probably be somewhat wasted on me. I like the pre '14 GX as much or more than the earlier 200s, the design language was really similar and simple compared to the complexity of what they're doing now.
I'd be good with this combo no question. A roof rack and some mild ATs and done:

Who are the main channels doing it? I’m wondering if they’ve calmed it down now due to backlash. I have watched a fair few videos by Arkansas Off Road and Ozark Overland Adventures. They do have kind of a broverlander vibe to them but some of the footage is nice.

Heard the FedEx guy drop my glass coffee table box off the back of the truck from inside the house.

It's still in one piece, fortunately

I don't want to mention any names. You know who I'm talking about though.
