I have 285s and was wondering how is the truck with 5.29s? Is it overkill?

Not at all I was running 265s with my 529’s for about a month and it was still fine. You do get into the higher RPMs if you wanna drive 80 but I rarely drive over 75 so now my RPMs are right where I’m comfortable with them on the highway. 265 and 488 would be perfect.

you could get away with 488’s with the 285s as well I believe but the drive ability in the city 20 miles to 50 miles an hour is perfect now

Gotcha, I live in the sierras so stock gearing and 285s gets annoying sometimes. I was thinking of 4.88s but 5.29s sound reasonable if I get bigger tires down the road.

Looking good, can't wait to see it in person. Very nice set up, I bet it drives better than before.

Running Ironman 4x4 UCA’s. My alignment shop is old school. No computer and rides great but I am going to my areas best 4x4 shop soon for an alignment because I want the numbers and to be dialed in. I can let you know in 2 weeks

with stock UCA I could not get caster in spec but everything else was.
    I’m
Also running black rhino stadiums now. Will have alignment soon

Ok, thanks. How much caster were you getting with the stock uca? I know some people are getting positive caster that is not necessarily in spec for a stock tacoma while still getting camber and toe in spec

It was just a degree or 2 off but it did not affect the ride or tire wear. Camber and toe were perfect.
