Must have received mine from a different batch. Thankfully everything functions correctly, uses the overhead harness (V2).

Sorry for your trouble Nuked, I believe Vled will take care of you.

The lowest kelvin we offer the kit in is 5000. Definitely not a lot of requests for 4000 these days.

How is the return policy? the photos for 5500k look a lot like my interior lights that were allegedly 4000k, perhaps those were lying.
Then again, photos can be deceiving.

Bar swaps probably aren’t the biggest deal, but contact customer service. It’s nearly impossible to accurately represent the hue in a photo. There’s an interior lighting kit that will ensure all of your interior lighting matches you can get; the same chips are used across the board.

I would recommend getting the VLEDS interior bulb kit to match the footwell kit. I went with 5000k for everything (footwell kit and interior bulb kit) and I really like it. A year in with all of that and couldn’t be happier.

I pinged Kyle directly but I know there are some other knowledgeable people in here to see if I can figure out my issue in case he doesn't swing through the forum for a bit.

I have the V1 kit and have had it since they were released and it's behaved flawlessly. Today I had the OEM battery finally die on my truck and I was blowing the interior apart to do some sound deadening. I noticed that one of the rear extension wires was pinched and wire was exposed. I noticed as I moved the rear seat up and down the lights were cycling. I repaired the exposed wire and re-routed the wiring so it wouldn't be pinched again. I buttoned up the interior and decided to take it for a ride.

I noticed when I was backing out of the garage the dome light remained on in my truck. Remembering back to the LED dome light threads I panicked since I know the dome light being always on usually equals blow body control module and $Texas bills. I ended up disconnecting the LED kit and my dome light behavior is back to normal. However, whenever I plug the LED kit back in now I have the high mode 24-7. If I lock the truck the dome light will stay on with the LED kit and if I arm the alarm the kit will blink off briefly and then back on.

I did some reading and I ended up unplugging the high side of the PWM module and the low side still behaves correctly. The kit is off with the lights off and on with the lights on. However if I just plug into the high side it's on 24-7.

My guess is that the pinched wire grounded out and damaged the PWM module Since the truck behaves normally with the system disconnected I don't believe I've damaged anything outside of the footwell kit, but I'm just looking for confirmation. VLED appears to sell the PWM unit for $20.00 so that's an easy fix.

For $20.00 plus shipping, reads as a no brainer fix.:burp:
High side uses ILE (dimming) wire as ground and fused DOME circuit (always hot).
Low uses ground to chassis and fused PANEL/TAIL circuit.

So your gut says I borked the PWM? Everything else in my truck works so I can’t see that I blew a fuse or module (although I haven’t checked fuses yet…it was 11 pm and I was exhausted).

I’ll put one on order today.

Just for record for anyone who runs into this issue, if the truck behaves fine with the high side unplugged and the LED behaves fine with the low side still plugged in, but the dome and kit stay on with the high side plugged in, you damaged your PWM module.

It’s a $23.00 shipped (with coupon) fix and will solve your issue.

My truck is back to behaving normal with the kit wired in.

Pieced together my own kit using the VLEDS aqua leds and their dimmer this weekend. Powered off the Qi charger circuit (I disabled the charger a few weeks ago and wanted to repurpose the switch). These are awesome. I like that they are fully modular - made the install very simple. Also swapped the cubby light out for the matching blue one from the RAV4 (P/N: 81080-42040). And since I always get this question - the light in front of the e-brake handle is the bass knob for my VX700/5i - I didn't have anywhere else within reach to put it.

That’s a good spot for it. If I ever get mine in, I might follow you on that.

You do have to be a little mindful of it when releasing the handbrake, but it's not too bad once you get used to it. Very easy to access when driving. If you have a VXi amp, this is the blue mode on the lowest brightness setting. Matches the gear shift indicator about perfect.

    Looks good!

There’s a sale going on now for folks still looking for kits. We also have some other things brewing…

Hmmm, MT is a little less accommodating for the JL VT bass knob.

So just installed front and rear today and gotta say I'm pretty stoked on these! I just Velcro'd the rears on the ground under the front seat facing up, it provides more of an ambient light than true illumination. Not sure this is the best way, I may experiment with moving them around at some point in the future but its working for now. Quick question, is it normal for the lights to subtly kind of flicker a bit as the engine cranks and turns over?

Yes that is normal and happens to most LEDs. There are voltage fluctuations when you crank the motor and LEDs are incredibly sensitive to voltage.

what parts did you buy that you used to "piece together your own kit"? was it much cheaper than just buying the kit with the harness that goes to the the dome light and is powered off of it? i was thinking about wiring my own leds as footwell lights off the cubby light so it comes on with the lights and when its dark, but Id also want it to come on when the doors open.

IIRC I saved about $80 vs their pnp kit. Basically, piecing it together was less than just their front set cost by itself. The main differences are that mine is not pnp to the truck wiring itself which was fine since I wanted to repurpose an existing switch, is able to be turned off whenever I want, and currently is not wired to come on when the doors open (though it would be very easy to add that functionality via their hi\low input piece). I attached a screenshot of parts ordered (I did not use the duotap but it was cheaper at the time to order that option itself vs the harness alone). The full setup was pnp aside from tapping the switch wiring and I am only using the low side of their input as that is the feed that is dimmable. Hope that helps.

    uhhhh....dog fur?
I have the front and rear set installed now, like them a lot!
I see that there are individual LED panels available on the vled site, could those be ganged into the kits that I have now so I could add more to the footwell system?
Was thinking of adding one more to the under driver side but forward facing (my driver front one is adhered just under the airbag so the light is more diffused than the others are
