Out here you have to compete with the in-tow convoys heading south of the border. By the time a Toyota SUV/truck has been listed for ~10 minutes they'll have 5+ messages already low balling.

Too bad it’s not an 85 with the solid front axle.

Like you don't know how to remove an axle shaft with tools from an auto zone in their own parking lot

For real, he seems like he should have had a lot of questions answered before attempting to do anything. In fact, judging by what he did attempt he probably shouldn't be doing anything himself at all

Wtf did he spend $800 on just to get to that point

Oh you don't even need tools from them, basic ass tools from home do the job.

I guess the 35mm axle nut socket, but apparently he thinks there's a way to do it without so that wasn't on his shopping list.

Have you ever looked at tool pricing in an auto parts store? Bonkers mark up lol

Plus I'm guess maybe he rented something and is considering the rental fee as part of his 800? Maybe cost of axle shaft as well?

Like.... (im going out on limb, thinking from crazy person to others in the wild,) I feel as if he thought he could "disassemble" a new CV, and then take apart everything behind the axle nut, and replace with the new one. But I have no real idea. You're right, he shoulda been asking questions a LONG time before that point lol

Oh I know, I was going off the hypothetical situation of yoy having to buy tools to do the job from the auto zone you bought the parts from

Lucky for him he couldn't do what he set out to, I'm guessing he probably would have driven off without the CV axle in and then posted about what a POS his truck is because the wheel fell off and destroyed his front end

I keep all my tools I've bought even for rigs I don't have.

Got an E14 torx for a Taco/4R front diff and that 41mm socket for the extended travel CV axles.

But unless he also bought a jack (which again, huge markup like you said) I can't see how they spent $800.
