so the light is on it there? dont see the fancy sight on it... but it looks like it would clear just fine.

    how does it draw? (feel/height)

im CC all the time & keep mine stripped down for flat against body & as low of draw height as possible, dont even like sites getting caught in a shirt.

but if holsters are starting to plan for this & work around it? im all in.

Correct. The retention is set on the light itself. Which is nice because that means less wear marks on the $700 gun and more wear on the $100 light. Which is the way i’d prefer it.

i’ve been carrying this way for a while. This is my third appendix holster. Had two for my Gen 5 G19 and streamlight TLR7A, one of which I still carry. Its how I prefer to carry and the passive retention is plenty. I can jog and work all day with it and eventually forget its there. The 19 is a little less comfortable (older holster with tons of wear).

I bought this 365XL a good while ago with plans to put an rmr on it eventually. That day finally came as you can see. I started carrying this gun again when the 17rd macro mags came out because i can carry 13+17 and only be one round down from my 15+16 with the glock.

i’d say the worst part is long car rides, other than that…i’m used to it

i have already snagged the optic on my shirt one time. So it all takes practice and commitment to dry fire. Clear the shirt, get the gun out and as you start to present with one hand, the other keeps the shirt clear until you can bring your other hand to the pistol

I also have a side car holster for a 365xl. kind of kicking myself for not getting a light and compatible holster for it as I like WML's on all my defensive weapons. Recently started carrying appendix after losing 34 pounds lol

    Hell yeah! Thats awesome.

if you didnt know, there is a HUGE second hand market for sidecars. So if you really want to upgrade, do it and sell your old one. Someone will buy it no matter how used it is. I sold my first Trex holster super fast when i upgraded to a WML model

Factory iron is deleted yes. Its held in place by the factory rmr plate so when you remove that to put the optic on, you cannot reinstall rear sights.

HOWEVER, this optic has a built in rear sight and it is DEAD ON. Extremely relieved by that, personally. I hated the idea of giving up a sighting system for another sighting system that can fail. So this setup is basically perfect now.

I picked up one of the Holosun EPS carry circle and dot and like it. Easier to pick up the optic on the draw.

I hear you. I'm skeptical about made in China. And it takes a different battery than my other optics. CR2032 and CR123's etc.

great info. Thank you for sharing.

im an OWB, right side, canted. (DeSantis). & YES ive worn the finish clear off of the inside of my current carry gun. Agree! practice is the most important part.

You mentioned your style which came across as a 2handed draw. im a 2hand mount but only a 1 hand draw. It just so happens that the rear iron site is close enough that it doesnt catch. have the "glow dots".

Tell me more: always wondered what the guys who have red dots & battery powered holos did in method of drawing/aiming vs us iron site guys who just point & pull. Do you actually turn them on? Or do you have those girp things that turn them on when you grab it?

background: carried 1911's from the time was 16yrs old until the FN Herstal came out & carried that until January of this year when i switched over to my current CC gun. (yes im one of those 5.7 guys....)

I turn it on in the morning and it stays on for 14hrs or until I take it off. We shall see how the battery life reflects that.

it does have some sort of situation adjusting technology because i have not adjusted the brightness and its automatically brightened itself up during the day and lowered itself back down in the evening.

if such a time arrises that the battery is insufficient or turned off, you just use the irons as you normally would. If your grip and presentation are as they should be, the sights would be visible regardless of whether then dot is on or not so it should be completely instinctual to revert to the sights in the event of an optic failure or battery problem.

As it stands i have two concerns i’m rattling in my head that only time will yield me answers to:
    1. Battery life?
    2. How long does it take to fill that window up with lint and debris or sweat and how bad will it get?

I know this is an old post but, I just bought a Taurus G2C 40. I am also shooting Low and to the Left. Did you do any upgrades to the trigger or did you just keep shooting and figure out the pistol?
