I never have ran over anything terribly bad with the mower (knock on wood). I believe the wife has hit something at one time or another because I can recall the engine sheared the key on flywheel.
It never did run quite right after that. :annoyed:

The good old end of the month push.

Happens even more so some places at the end of the quarter .

It must look good on paper for the total product shipped.

Last year I hit the corner of a 10 foot peice of flat metal stock with a one year old honda walk behind… bent the crank shaft. I haven’t fixed and it cost me $100 more than I originally paid to replace :anonymous:

I believe that's why the mower with a sheared key never ran the same. For self propelled walk behinds I've been buying Snapper brand from local Walmart, the last 2 anyways.

    Can't like that...

Years ago I bent the crankshaft on a little Snapper V21 walk mower.

Using the logic that an impact bent it so an impact could straighten it I used a dial indicator and hammer (not simultaneously) to true it back up -- it worked. :notsure:

Cooking with Rusty (aka: The Lazy Chef) tip of the day:

Store brand (Aldi) steak fries cook quite nicely on a George Foreman grill with almost zero effort. :)

At least she'll save me the job of cleaning out the deck underside.
I really think the blades could use sharpening too, they didn't seem very sharp as delivered.
I see some special belt tension tool available and curious if that is a new maintenance procedure I'll have to learn:confused:

I like the idea of nice sharp blades -- with all the rocks, dirt, bits-o-tree, cables, chains, iron, etc that I find on a regular basis that is all it is -- an idea...

Last week I had the New Holland down at the garage to fix the muffler, sharpened the blades while I was there. One half a pass around the yard (that I have mowed 100's of times) and found a new rock. :censored:

I don't think a mower blade needs to be razor sharp but these blades as delivered I could visually see IDK .020" of flat at the cutting edge.
The wife had to go pick up my floor jack, yeah the brand new low profile long reach one. Kid borrowed it. Too much effort to return dad's stuff:mad:

Good morning guys, did you miss me? It’s been one of those weeks where I just never seemed to get caught up. I still have to mow my weeds today but that’s it so light at the end of my tunnel. Hope it’s a good weekend for you.

Morning all, wife wanted to go to a few garage sales in a nearby town today. One was about 2 miles out in the country. Dirt road and been raining for the past few weeks... well the Tacoma got us there and back with no problem.

Then I spent 2hrs laying under it with the hose. Boy are there a lot of nooks and crannies for mud to pack into. :mudding:

Worst part of it all, neither of us even found anything to buy..
