What year Ninja 650? I test rode a 2006 Ninja 650R one time and was quite disappointed. It felt like it had a high center of gravity and was overall very stiff. I would definitely go with an SV650 over a Ninja 650R. A Honda CBR650R would be a good choice as well.

I'm a noob with no experience, but I find most of the daily rider videos to give a reasonable perspective on bikes, but generally skewed toward the positive. If you trust Zack Courts, then this might give you a starting point.

That's not uncommon. Top it back off to the correct pressure and just recheck for a couple days.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
No leaks around the valve stem? I would hit it back up with pressure and check it in 2 hours to see what is happening.

I know your bike has a TPMS setup. Just keep your eye on it. I bet it’s the bead locking down is all. You just threw those on there and it may take a ride to get it all settled.

New tube? Spray some soapy water on that valve stem, if the pressure continues to go down. May just have some junk in it.

Thank you all for the feedback! I should have given more context! I’m not on here as much as I used to be.

I miss my SV650 all the time. Not my favorite bike I’ve ever owned/ridden but such a solid little do-everything we needed bike.

I’d be buying new, so 2023, or close to it.
Basically whatever the wife decides she wants to try next (Dual Sport/another “cruiser”/Sportier bike) I’ll be joining her on her journey.

she’s between a Dual Sport (probably the new CRF300LS or a used XT250 of it pops up cheap) or trying the Rebel 500 or Ninja 400 next.

I love Daily Rider!! I watch almost all of them ha. Such a good dude as well.

I’ve ridden just about everything just about everywhere. My newest motorcycle adventure is watching my wife grow as a rider. She started on my SV650 and was doing well but didn’t feel 100% confident so I got her a Rebel 300. Man what a perfect starter bike. She learned much much faster on it. We sold that this Spring and once we’re moved into the new house I’m looking for what’s next for her. Once she test rides and decided between off road next or on road next we will go from there.

IF she got the Ninja 400 I was considering a 650 just to roll with her. She has fun when we have similar bikes so it makes me happy. But I could just as well ride anything ha.

    Thanks again, all!

Honestly, have her try a CB500X. It's a solid step up from where she is at, and with nothing more than a tire change it's a capable adventure bike to start with. Very linear power so it's very confidence inspiring.

The more you post about the CB500X the more I want one, especially in that green of yours.

I'd tighten valve and take it for a spin, let cool down and recheck

I try to keep 100% of options open for her, even if they’re not my liking. I’ll have her sit on one at the local dealer this week :)

At 33” seat height and higher up weight I’m not sure she’s ready to one leg it yet. Her biggest complaint with the SV (at 31”) was tippy toes. She felt confident on the 27” seat of the Rebel.

Dual sports compress a lot and have more room for adjustment as well as lighter weight.

We’ll see! I’m guessing she’ll enjoy the DS as she loves off roading in our little Pickup and 4Runners throughout the years. Impressed me out at Moab!

I’ve always wanted to chop up a DR650 and weld up something unique so I’m hoping she goes the off road route :D learn a lot as a beginner, safer and faster, that way as well.

I got the Groms beak on today. It’s kind of giving me hypermotard vibes. I think I’ll like it a lot more when I ditch the front fender and put on Monkey fork guards. I have one but the right side is back ordered, whomp whomp.
