59FB8AA4-24EA-4B23-9298-B92E3CCD6240.jpg Good morning. I don’t post much but sure do read the threads. Well went outside last evening and found this fawn. It is right by the patio. My wife of course thinks it’s abandoned. I tell her look we go through this every year . Mama knows exactly where her fawn is. Oh well guess we will have this discussion for a few more days till the fawn gets its legs going.

    Good morning all!

On the subject of EVs and the loss of revenue from gas taxes. There's been a lot of talk on some of the motorcycle forums I'm on. A couple of states are discussing this but one big issue keeps coming up. How can your home state, PA for example, tax me for miles traveled in other states?

    Morning all:

The GPS may be able to do that somehow, my buddies Tundra knows and announces when we enter NJ and then return back to PA when we cross the I-80 bridge to go fishing. Different states have different state gas taxes, all have the Fed. 18c a gal. excise tax,
That's an interesting subject Chuck, never thought about that, on our hunting Trips to Maine we passed through Pa, Ny, Ct, Mass, NH, and Maine, all with different rates of gas tax, I'm sure they have a "PLAN" for interstate travelers to cough up the lost gas tax.
Just thinking, we filled up in PA, NY, Seabrook NH, then in Skowhegan ME, guess that means we got to use the other states roads for free, they may just hit you up with the tax for the state you need to charge up in just like when you gas up. :notsure:
One thing "GUARANTEED", they aren't going to lose revenue, if anything it will cost more!

Beautiful pic. of the fawn Jim :thumbsup:, always amazing to see them. It's been a while since I stumbled onto one "hidden" in the woods and was always a gift from mother nature to be able to see such a gorgeous animal.

Good to hear you found the skip Mike, sure would S*** if you were trying to compete with a subpar motor, now go get em, good luck!

Rob: The rear marker lights only have a running and stop light function, not the turn signal function. I believe that with the addition of another wire lead and 3 more diodes this could have happened.

    With rear marker lights on:

    With rear marker lights off:

Looks like :tinfoilhat::tinfoilhat::tinfoilhat: would best describe that, would bet that they weren't the first three cars that they stole either![/QUOTE]

Carl: Interesting topic, usage tax for electric vehicles and how to tax the usage fairly. I believe that all vehicles need to pay some sort of a road tax. The current system is not equal at all with trucks only paying the same amount plus a truck/trailer tax, but the roads need to be 5 times thicker to support the weight of the truck. With gas it is not an issue because we pay a set fee per gallon of gas. Clearly an electric vehicle does the same damage, to the roadway, as a gas-powered vehicle. It took almost 60 years for the gas-powered vehicle to replace the horse as a principal mode of travel for the masses. Electric vehicles have really only been mass produced since 1996 with the GM EV1 at a thousand units for the year. Electric vehicles will become the mass vehicle for travel in another 30 years. Already the charging station infrastructure has started to gain momentum with more charging stations. I am probably wrong, but history does have a way of repeating itself over and over again.

Good morning. Today is Bowiefest in the city. We are going around 11:30, then it is home to start a smoke for two turkey breasts for dinner tonight. Everyone have a great weekend.

We had a huge full grown bison bull walk by us in a row of cars waiting for the herd to cross the road. Literally several inches from the side view mirror. We were in the jetta we had at that time, briefly.
A powerful animal. We could not breath till it passed.

    Afternoon all:

Darn Dennis, either Mike needs to shave, or you need to grow a mustache and some stubble, are you sure you aren't twin brothers, there is a striking resemblance!

Tom, are you thinking we will eventually be going back to the horse and buggy days, heck, I would even bet that a couple of Clydesdales could tow the boat!

At 11:30 I was walking to the garage and noticed a bear going through the opening behind the small shed, then happened to notice a small choke cherry tree that was down in the back yard that needs to be removed. Earlier this week a large branch broke off a maple tree and is hanging down, I just cut it off high enough to be able to mow under it, to completely remove it I would have to cut it off about 30' up, good for three:annoyed:'s!
