Make them give you a loaner! Tell them you are afraid it will catch fire and you don't want to drive it. Call a couple other dealers see what they have to say.

I told them I was worried it would catch fire to give me a loaner but they wouldn't. He insisted that it would be fine. I'm going to call another dealer but the next closest one is 45 miles away.

I'd make them put it in writing thats its safe to drive a vehicle with no lubrication in the front diff...because thats where you're headed.

Because of the lack of lock out hubs the newer diffs spin the axles all the time, with no lube you do run a risk of locking the front drive up out on the road, you might point out to them.

I did mention that fact but he said they were short on loaners and they changed there policy for giving out loaners, said it has to be disabled to be granted one.

Thats the same line of B.S. my brother told when he went in for warranty work.
They told him he could rent a loaner.
He told them, well I pay for a loaner and you get reimbursed for a loaner for doing warranty work. Sounds like double dipping to me. It didn't take very long for them to find a car for him.
