Install wasn’t so bad to be honest…the heat and the sun did not make things easy on me lol. Gratefult for the 3/4” punch and R4T’s install video for find the holes on the drip moldings. When making the holes, make sure to go slightly towards the roof panel…holes are not dead centre of the moldings.

It’s dirty right now, still have to install the LED bar and rubber moldings on the wind deflector.

And shit ton of caulking lol! I can smell it inside my truck…so I think that’s a good thing lol!

Sorry for the delayed response. It's a one off bumper designed off the outgear bumper.

how much calk? all I did it load up my gun and fill the holes until it started to come out the bolt holes and then put the bolt down. Though I want to remove my rack and put my Moulding back on my truck. But I'm also terrified that ill screw the trim up and then be right back. or cut the trim up to the mounts and use some RVT black to close the gaps up and then unless the rack is coming off no one but me will ever know.

I don't know when I will get to do this. Maybe this weekend. All of my wires are ziptied tight under the dash. It is going to be somewhat of a pain to cut the zipties and remove the radio. The 1st thing you should do, which I did not do, is try the big metra trim without the radio installed. See if it clips in place up top and bottom. If so then my issue may very well be that the mounted brackets are slightly off angle, where attached to my hu, thus causing the lower radio face to be pushing out on the lower metra trim which, in turn, would prevent the top clips from locking in place. The face coming through the trim, in the square hole, appears to be equally aligned top and bottom. Whatever my issue is the result is the top face of the hu flexes in and out, just enough to cause the rattle, on rocky or rough pavement. Sons scosche has zero rattle. I installed both radios myself. It could simply be an installation error by me.

After I installed my rack I cut the 2 trim strips and reinstalled them. You'll need to cut them with a hacksaw as there is a small strip and metal in the center. A little bit of black rtv and they have haven't moved since

Upgraded my Scangauge from 2 to 3 and kept it mounted on the steering column. It blocks the truck speedo, but I use the Scangauge calibrated speedo anyway so no biggie. The 3 has a truck load (pun intended) of features and its touch screen makes it a whole lot more intuitive and than the 2.

Gen2 tacos also don't have tire pressure readouts, so having the SG 3 able to tell PSI and even tire temp is a plus.

Just a quick update. (1) I removed the metra face plate and the plastic brackets are indeed the reason it flexes. (2) The trim faceplate top clips are engaged however they do not let the faceplate go in deep enough with metra or oem clips. It has wiggle space. The problem is the holding posts on the metra faceplate, where the clips mount, are made incorrectly. There is nothing that I can file to make them work because the "spikes" holding the clips in place are too far forward. If it was the opposite problem I could file the "spikes" to adjust the in/out position of the faceplate.
I am first going to fab a piece of metal to go across both upper radio mounting screws to see if it eliminates the flex. If not then I will remove the whole unit and replace with oem brackets. The factory steel brackets should be more rigid than the metra plastic ones. Then again I had no issue with the 2012 scosche kit. I would return the metra and wait for the better faceplate kit with or without the oem metal brackets. If all else fails then I am going to swap to my oem metal brackets. I may have done that on the 2012 scosche but I just cannot remember.

Well my added plate makes it a little more rigid. Had to shift plate up to get ac control back in. Added foam up above and below radio to add stability. Total PITA. Not road tested yet. Note factory radio bezel has a 3rd clip up top. Metra only has 2 up top. Just not happy with entire fit of metra.
