Pulling a smaller camper dry weight of 2,900 pounds . Pulle descent but it eats my gas up 10 mile per gallon . Anyone else the same ? Thanks

Yes. I average 10-11 with the roof top tent on the truck and towing a 3500# off-road teardrop. Worst mileage I had was 6 from Cheyenne to Casper with 50 MPh headwinds. That was miserable.

I get 10 MPG in my 81 GMC C3500 Dually towing an 8 x 24 race car trailer loaded down so I am used to shitty mileage. It'd be cool if we had a Cummins R2.8 turbo diesel option for these little Tacos but wish in one hand shit in the other and see which one fills up first right?

I get between 10-11mpg pulling my 4000 lbs(loaded) camper. By comparison I once pulled it with a DuraMax. It pulled it VERY well... but only got 12 mpg pulling with the Duramax. So really Tacoma does OK in the gas mileage department.

I gave up pulling anything besides a utility trailer with my tacoma, throwing a brick on the gas pedal to keep it going and shitty mileage. I get better mileage, 10-11 with my other truck pulling just under 19K

Sweet setup! When you run the numbers for total cost of ownership of your other truck that pulls 19k you will be exponentially higher too. Cost per gallon of diesel fuel, maintenance on the cummins, cost to insure, insane MSRP of a dually diesel vs. a Tacoma, etc.

You have in one pocket a little Swiss Army knife that is handy in an awful lot of situations and doesn't weigh you down and on your belt you have Bradford Guardian 3 fixed blade and you are expecting your little Swiss Army to do the same job as the Bradford?

Concern with towing at 10mpg in a Tacoma is range… at a 21 gallon tank, you’re filling up every 100-150 miles.

Added benefit of those massive American trucks is larger fuel capacity. Filling up requires a mortgage payment, but at least you have some range.

It's like asking the wise old owl how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll tootsie pop...
the answer is always the same
How many mpg do you get when you haul?
10, the answer is always 10.
Got 10 with my F350 pulling horse trailers, get 10 with the taco pulling a TT.
    The answer is 10

Ditto. I get 10 or 11 pulling my 3250# TT, same as I got with my Ford Escape 2.0l turbo towing 2600#. 10.

10 mpgs for me too. Pulling my utility trailer has been no problem but my 18ft camper is another story. The truck pulls it ok but I have to run in 4th gear, I have a MT, and at highway speeds it revs. In 5th it really struggled to hold speed. About a month ago I got the OTT tune hoping it would help pulling the camper and it did. It not only would pull in 5th but accelerate doing it. I've only pulled the camper about 80mi so far so I can't say for sure on the gas mileage yet but the truck sure has an easier time pulling it.
