    Good Morning Porchies.
Back home after an eventful weekend.

Went out for practice/ qualifying and our skip was still there.
Could not see much of anything in the electronics.
Ended up re positioning plug wires, cleaning the ends, scraping the dist cap.
Skip is gone. So, there is an induction thing going on. We will address this in the shop.
Qualifying went ok. Ended up 5th.

We don’t have “classes”, we have “Groups”.
So there is a mix of engines, aerodynamic ability, and modern suspension. A car from 1965 cannot compete, per se, with a more modern era car.

Rain and heat was horrible and trying to qualify and race in between with the track changing all the time was a PITA.

Sat was like 50° cooler. All the rubber was gone off the track and it was a crap shoot for tires.

Race at 9:30 ended up second and made a few adjustments.

@CTSpruceMica arrived with his wife ( sorry I told you I’m horrible at names. My apologies).
I had a wonderful time. It was a tremendous pleasure and honor to meet you both as you took the time to drive and come see me. Thank You Both. Much respect…

So with one second place under our belt we gave them a show and had another second. Just couldn’t chase down the V8 powered Devin. He really amped up his game as we could pull with him last year but I think he has more tiger in his tank this year.
So my visitors got to see a good run.. :yay:.

I don’t know if they saw the 2:30 race but we ended up third. Tires were going away some and our friend got by us with a few laps to go.

We came back home in one piece and safe with no damage. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Thank you all for your encouragement. It’s nice to share something you have loved all your life.

Carl: LOL but no not going back to a horse. I meant that technology is always improving and replacing older technology. I bet there were some that said the wheel would never replace rolling heavy objects on logs. The way gas tax works now is probably what will happen in the EV world. If you use a public charging station there will be a charging tax and that money will be misspent by government. ;)

Good morning and happy Sunday. Off to the gym then on to the Farmers market and back home to install some backyard lighting that was removed when we filled in the pond last year.

There was a discussion on EV's I'm not sold on any of it . I can see hybrid, I live in a cold climate in a sparsely populated state charging stations are few and between. We seen in California last year during a heat wave people asked not to charge them due to grid overload. The biggest downfall In my opinion is the limited travel distance they currently have. Possibly an in town commuter. But a vacation vehicle, no. Personally it is a way limit travel without telling you that your freedoms are being limited. Secondly it is expensive to purchase and people with limited resources are going to struggle with the upgraded cost. Let alone it still doesn't eliminate the need for lubricants and the things fossil fuels are used for in manufacturing.

:rain::notsure: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Almost had severe weather last night, gave up right when it got here. 70% today, but not around at the moment - we'll see.

Congrats Mike, that was a good day.

    Evening all:

Better yet, your wife could have wanted you to bring it inside the house, they can make nice pets, and you could even be bottle feeding it!

Go figure, went to fire up the "66" and the battery needs to be charged. Six year old battery and I think it's time for a new one, now all I need to figure out is how to get ahold of Sunoco and get the address where I need to sent them the bill and the paperwork in order to get reimbursed for the new battery. I have it on the charger now, and it will probably make it through the summer, but come fall I will replace it.
Can't really find anything on the computer about who to contact about replacing those lifetime batteries, I always dealt with a corporate headquarters in Philly before and hope a phone # I have is still good, plus they may have moved, I think they hate anyone who still has their lifetime battery warranty! :D
    I'll figure it out!
Wonder what would happen if they tried to S**** me and I bought a Lith Ion battery for the car for $800, and they ended up having to pay for it, then I'd really be on their S*** list!
