Also wtf happened with Russell and Hamilton, craziness.

Edit: just watched on board with Ham, Russell was way ahead and let Ver and Sainz finish their hot laps to start his own but Hamilton was following Sainz at race pace to start his hot lap and once Sainz went past Rus pulled in front not knowing Ham was there. I think Ham wanted to slip stream Carlos down the straight.

The spotters should have warned George and he could have used his mirrors too. But ehhhh

George just goes to blaming someone else... (paraphrasing) "I didn't know he was there," aka "Why did you (the spotter) tell me he was there?" when he could have likely seen Lewis in his left mirror. Avoidable mistake.

Re: Mixed up grid - If Max gets out clean ahead of everyone, the race is his. That Q3 lap was stupid fast. It'll be a battle for the rest of the podium, though I have a feeling Fernando and Checo will make their way up the order a bit within the first 10 laps or so.

When Vancouver hosted Indy races on the streets around the Expo grounds, man hole covers were welded down, it has been ongoing for decades.

Back to FP1 and FP2, Max's times are slightly better than pre hybrid days on a similar track layout
    Memories of George and Bottas

I think Alonso will make his way through the field and have a nice little battle with Sainz for 2nd. ¡Vamos!

Not a current F1 comment, but for anybody here who is "older" like myself...I was at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut for some vintage racing.

Someone showed up with a 1976 McLaren M23. The sidepods were autographed by Emerson Fittipaldi and the designer Gordon Cuppuck...and James Hunt. Fittipaldi autograph was from when he drove it a Goodwood.

They also brought a Ferrari 312PB LeMans prototype car. One of those sold last month for $13 million. The car I saw was the Brian Redman/Arturo Merzario car.

So we essentially go from Mercedes winning everything for years with basically no competition to red bull winning everything for years with basically no competition

And Ferrari purposely choking the chicken. I've had it. Max runs and away and that's it. Meh. Kinda boring.

When I first started watching F1 in 1999 Michael Schumacher was doing the same what Max and Lewis did/doing. JUst Red Bulls time. All good things come to an end. Merc Aero changed seemed, for today, to be working well.

That race was a snooze fest.

Lando can't catch a break this season. Good race for Mercedes though.

George thinking his sweat was rain is filed on the list of funniest things this F1 season.
