What are newer 3rd gens going for now used?

I have a 2022 SR 4x4 v6 with 10k miles on it that carvana is offering me 2k over what i paid(paid MSRP of 34k last january) that I have had a ton of small issues with, coolant leak, possible head gasket issue, leaking 3rd brake light, bumper cover tabs broke within a month of owning and no damage to truck, tailgate metal bar cracked on one side causing the tailgate to be unable to be closed for a week until repair, a lot of little warranty work etc. I am contemplating getting a new tacoma in the color I want(had to settle for white due to shortages when I bought). On top of that, super white is a flaking off ticking time bomb.

Is the used market still insane? Is there a long wait for trucks in the US now dealer wise? I would like to make a jump to the exact same truck but in silver or black, a 4x4 v6 SR new 2023 model but i am wondering how much more $$ i will spend to upgrade to a new 2023 and if I should use carvana at all or try for a private sale? any advice? thanks

 

Sell it, get what you want.
Especially if you already have an offer over what you paid.
Life is too short. There are trucks available depending on what you want, but might take some time to find it.

 

Figuring out the price and availability for the actual replacement would be something I'd look into...

 

Take the money and run. Buy a POS to get by until you can get what makes you happy.

 

Carvana is aware of all those issues and it still offering you 36k for a SR or did you get a offer online?

Sadly $10k more and I want a real truck.

 

My 2020 SR 4x4 four cylinder is in perfect condition with 15k miles and they offered me 28,200 so I would take it. You also might try getting a quote from Edmonds

 

$2k over what you paid, and that vehicle has minor issues - I'd sell and go get a 2023.
For a few dollars more step into an SR5 trim.

 

Used prices are still jacked, you're better off buying new. Don't take our word for it, start googling.

I got $38k for my 2021 4x4 Trail with 19,000 miles - from a dealer no less. They bought it outright. I paid $39k and some change. Plus I'll get the toyota warranty $ back too. Not bad for 2 years of ownership.

About 2 weeks ago. I put the truck on facebook marketplace and people came out of the woodwork. But this dealer here in Marana AZ was all over me and so I went in and was blown away they would match a private offer. I probably could have got more but I just wanted it done with.

Man a domestic has those issues and ya'll would be saying to never buy another one again!
