This minivan is chonky, packed it to the gills with 500 lbs of shit. Start my drive west on Tuesday afternoon.

 

Now that I think about it I heard two separate jets and saw one of them. It was up pretty high to be coming out of the local gaurd base here. I went out to see what it was and must have seen the #2 jet after hearing the 1st one.

 

That's a nice trailer. Colorado, right? Jealous...

 

Not quite, Phoenix. Still a lot of beautiful land to explore!

 

Ah, I could have swore you said Colorado once before...my bad. Still, Phoenix is awesome as well (and I'm still jealous, haha). My DIL's parents live in Anthem just north of Phoenix, and my son will probably end up there when he gets out of the Corps this fall. Hopefully I can convince my wife to move out there when I finally leave this gun club!

I was driving to and from Roanoke most of the day but Lots of helicopter activity when I got home

 

I hear the boom load and clear included a bit of ground shaking. The AF is very close my house!

Yup! Absolutely sucking down gas but the 38 gallon fuel tank helps for fewer stops.

I'll be making a similar trip, although not as far, at the end of July. Will be using a 20' uhaul to tow the 4runner on a car trailer to Indiana which should be interesting

 

In other news, the 4runner passed a state inspection legitimately after a while of being uninspected/rejected. I fixed it immediately after getting rejected, but then I was waiting until I move to Indiana to just forget about it. I finally got a warning about having an invalid sticker the month before moving lol. I was worried about passing since the frame has obviously been modified by cutting off the back ~2ft and rear cross member to repair as well as a section by the transmission crossmember, but the inspector said whoever did the frame work did a very nice job. Which of course made my very excited because I did it in my parents driveway lol
