Just got home yesterday from a long, long trip. Excited to install these guys. Does the TB need to be removed/loosened for installation?

Got them in, without removing the TB, a little tight, but it worked.

I bet! Its pretty simple to remove the TB though for anyone else getting them. NO need to disconnect any coolant lines etc.

If anything you have more room not having the S/C on top of it. Figure remove airbox and TB but its been awhile. Trying to recall if I ever did it before the S/C but valid point.

Finally had some time to install these today. And it took longer then anticipated since the driver side solenoid split in half not sure why. It felt tight coming out as well. New one went in like butter just like the passenger side.

    Pic of broken one

Seriously. I wonder if it was bad already and needed replacing. It felt like it was swollen. Really tough to pull out the remaining half. The other one came out fine and both new ones went in smooth. Idk.

Seems like that is the important part.

I need to get mine installed - the weather has not been cooperating...

I've seen another guy snap their stock solenoid at the same point. But their solenoid was rusted to hell. Your's doesn't seem to have that much rust, but you mentioned that it felt "swollen" while in the cavity. I have experienced a "stuck" impeller shaft due to the buildup on rust and caused the shaft to "swell". I've also read about lug nuts that have become "swollen" and difficult to remove.

whatever the case, I'm glad you got the broken solenoid out of the cavity and got the new RB unit installed. Leave any post-install driving impressions if you have time! Thanks!

...and spit. J/K. The solenoids (stock or not) do fit pretty snug. Because I was having to install/remove these solenoids a bunch of times, and I was worried that during the process I would lose that 10mm bolt into the abyss of the engine bay..... I actually drove with both solenoids installed BUT without the 10mm bolts that secures the bracket. Solenoids didnt shoot back out from the CYL head nor did it even back out a little bit. So, hehe, I dont recommend driving without the solenoids fastened down, but it can be done without your engine blowing up.

@SUMOTNK just wanted to say thanks for squeezing me into the group buy and the awesome customer service.

My first batch had a faulty driver side solenoid and sumotnk quickly sent a new one out. Truck feels like VTEC is kicking in now lol

So, read through the first 8 or so pages and the last couple on here. Without scouring the entire thread, was a before and after Dyno ever done for these or not? Definitely interested but would like to see numbers on an NA engine just to see if maybe there was a difference in power.
