Looking to buy this on the east coast. Seller says it is a TRD Sport 135k miles. he removed the badges and the stickers. Asking $24k.

Do you all see any red flags about the truck based on the pictures? Are the side steps factory? Do the wheels look like he painted them himself?

Thanks for any help, I’m looking at this truck with an untrained eye as I’m coming from first gen world looking to upgrade.

Yeah that’s a TRD Sport, color match bumper, turn signal lights, and hood scoop just like mine. The predator steps are not factory. Also looks like he painted the TRD Sport wheels black.

Wheels are OEM Sport with added paint.

Hood is correct for a sport.

Steps could be OEM, kind of irrelevant. They are easy to add/remove.

Being from Vermont, I’d inspect the frame really good.
Actually, being from any state, I’d check the frame.

It's a sport, looks like the antenna is broken, and the wheel paint is kinda crummy but looks mint otherwise.

^ What everyone said. It's pretty confidently a TRD Sport. Those are the 17" alloys that come on it (but painted poorly since they are flaking), turn signal mirrors, hood scoop, painted to match rear bumper and grille surround.

It still has the OEM mudflaps, which a lot of people rip off the front ones when off roading since they hang "so low", so it's a pretty good bet that this truck has barely been on trails.

Like others said - Vermont truck - triple check it for rust, which I'm sure you're aware of.

I did that, but the reports never say if it’s a TRD or not.

Yes, he did do that. It seemed fishy to me too, but I asked him if had an e locker and he didn’t know what that was. So I said the Pro model should have the elocker and then he same he was mistaken about the trim because he removed the stickers. If he’s dishonest about that, what else is he being dishonest about?

He said he also put Bilstein 5100 on the front. What is the difference between the sport and the pro?

It is if you run it through Toyotas data base.
But they changed it recently, the general public doesn’t have full access to Port/Factory info any longer.
There are a few members here that could check, but I’m not going to tag them. They will help if they want. Tagging them might only have other people bother them;)

Here is an example of Port/Factory

I wouldn't say this is terrible, but for $24k I'd hold out for the same truck from CA/Eastern Oregon/Arizona/etc.

    I am almost certain it’s a Sport.
I’m a southern boy, I’m not paying $24k for that.

Looks like it's a TRD Sport 4x4 with Tow Package.

    This is 99% a sport.

Yellow bilstein rear shocks (original), the 17" alloys and other items make it a sport.

If it were a PRO, it would have nicer Bilstein suspension, fake beadlock wheels, TRD chromed tip exhaust/muffler, TRD Shifter and a few other things, but mostly A CHROME BUMPER and PRO GRILLE that says "TOYOTA".
