I love this forum! Lol! Though you could probably pass small LEDs pretty easily. Cut off the leads and there you go, we’ll get batacoma to try it.

Uhh I've taken road trips in my Tesla, shit takes 15 minutes to charge ~200 miles, not 1.5+ hours. Also, it's not 2012 anymore man, those "very specific stops" is nearly every gas station now (https://www.plugshare.com). I would levy most people, myself included, don't regularly drive 250+ miles a day. Towing range with a BEV like a lightning or R1T loaded with ~7k lbs (more than a Taco can even tow) is ass though, most people don't get a Taco to tow though, that's what full size is for. I have no clue what your last comments are about, I never said anything about people skipping the 4th gen.

That 200 miles in 15 minutes is entirely dependent on the local energy usage since Tesla (and other EV chargers) introduced throttling capabilities.

For my use case, a PHEV truck would be ideal. 95% of my driving would be within the all electric range. The other 5% I could rely on the gas engine.

If you consider earth a mental institution? Then yes I do. When you look up eating light bulbs there are numerous examples to be found. I don't just make this stuff up.

This thread needs a new teaser so we can argue for 2 weeks over the stupid idea of adding a flashlight in the speaker hole on the dash since we dont need another speaker in the truck anyway.

instead of discussing eating light bulbs….

    4th geners...

Always eating light bulbs talking about how much they loath the Ranger Raptor, and that Toyota nixed the rear doors on the XtraCab. How they long for the days when they can do a full battery electric swap, and get rid of that archaic turbo+hybrid abomination under the hood.

I had a 2019 Volvo S60 and they had introduced their plug in, it was more than I wanted to spend but that’s the right idea. The new ones have 40 mile electric range plus a combined 450 horsepower between gas and electric motors (I like zoomies). Too bad Volvo will never be popular here, they really are fantastic smooth cars.

What model is everyone wanting to go with. I am waiting on the Pro but like I said before I honestly think it will be to much. So the next is an offroad prefer the hybrid but will wait for pricing if it's crazy to just the reg 2.4t with the manual.

I tend to agree with this. I'm preferring the non hybrid after seeing the mpg difference between the hybrid/nonhybrid on the tundra. I'm hoping I can spec it out the way I want without going to hybrid

So, hypothetically, assuming your profile rig is traded for the 4th gen, you'd go from the 3.5 v6 to turbo 4, potentially non-hybrid with similar numbers. Better rear suspension and disconnecting sway bar. Loads of new tech and interior refresh. 3" longer wheelbase. Roughly the same basic setup though? Net cost to you is around 10k give or take?

Or planning to keep the '18 and add?

Don’t really see the point of the Pros.

    If I had to choose,

SR5 DCLB, since they killed the AC. However at that point, might as well get a Tundra.

No I wouldn't keep the truck I have a little Yaris as my 2nd car. In Cdn dollars I think the truck should be worth in the 40 range so if a offroad is in the 55 range I would be fine with that. But I have a feeling the Pro is gonna be about 72-75 plus tax which where I am is close to 90. Well I would rather keep my truck and by an 86 or Gr Corolla for the other 50 if that makes sense.

I want a GR pretty bad but a divorce is a costly extra tax and I already have lots of heat with 3 vehicles. And I drive like an old man so there isn't much point to a GR for me anyway.

For me, I think the only way I'd consider selling a 3rd gen and buying a 4th gen is for DCLB MT or EV. The hybrid, being that it's about HP/Torque, doesn't add much of any value for a family friendly rig, and even if it did get 35 MPG with a light foot, that would take a long time to recoup the upgrade cost.

Really, as my two boys get bigger, the 4Runner becomes even more appealing now that I have two decent RC trucks for truck stuff. I'd have a lot of trouble resisting a modern MT T4R. We already have a great minivan and the Sequoia is just crazy price-wise, may as well go R1S at that point.

But, mostly, every time I get back in the 2016 I see all the mods I've done and I think "I just can't ever sell this thing".

My gf has a 4runner that she doesn't put many km on but we do use it if we do go away. Even this past weekend we went to another province for the night so we took it. The only downside is its lifted with bigger tires and it is a fair bit harder on the fuel then my truck
