Something done to help prevent loss of tailgate. The $30 clamp made by the TW member seems too much drama around the security (teeth on the underside) screw that must be removed and I do not have PayPal.

SaBellCo only has PayPal for online purchase option so I need to call them to see if they are reasonable over the phone.

In the meantime I put on a hose clamp and will find plastic that can wrap around it very soon. Put washers on the cable hooks (one photo) using some coaxial cabling clamp rings (I have an embarrassing collection of little used product!) as a spacer/pivot for the gate-cable.

All-in-all, a small drill with the right adapters can easily-enough remove these, but maybe for the $1.89 washers and $2.50 hose clamp (after they break the tailgate lock) makes them walk past, it worked.

Put the truck to work early. Drove from my place near Houston to NW Louisiana-Black Bayou area, and picked up an 06 Mini Cooper S that I bought for my other half. Then made the trek back home. Truck did good. I'm not a trailer engineer, but the way the trailer is set up the car rides all the way forward on the trailer, so it was tongue-heavy and made the truck squat more than it should. I would think it make more sense to have the car centered over the axles. Anyway, was fun at all the odd looks we got from folks on the road. One guy even cruised next to me for a good couple minutes and had his driver door positioned right at my rear tires. He was just looking at something....idk what though lol.

You could just do a shock upgrade to get better performance out of it without lifting it. There are a lot of options though, so you'll have to narrow down what you want, then look at those options.

To be fair, I only financed $9,500 @3.99 but I hate having a car loan.

I was able to put down A LOT due to selling our paid off 5th gen and having to wait 5 months (able to save more money during this time period) to find a DCLB TRD OR in Lunar Rock at MSRP.

It’s finally getting so green around here again I love it. Definitely would have had to check for brookies in that creek :D

If you’re ever this way again and want to do some class 4’s let me know! Lots of cool places. I drive slow and jump out and fish if i see a good pool though, so be prepared to be out for a while

Love my AC got it over a year ago used had to travel to get it but I only wanted an AC. Heard a Toyota commercial on the radio pushing Access Cabs now in stock “see your local Toyota dealer” it said for me it’s still a pick-up and not an SUV/pick-up

Thinking to go GMNF near Granville end of June. My brother in law has a stock taco. Any class fours nearby that we can do with him?

Got the KDMax Pro 10 tune early and am now able to report that it is just better all around than 9 was. Tip-ins and shifts are much smoother, and somehow my mpg actually seems to be going up. Awesome upgrade, definitely worth flashing over 9. +33ft/lbs isn't bad either.

Took advantage of the Memorial day sale and picked up these sweet Charvonia Designs billet tie downs. These things are stout. I ordered them in the textured black powdercoat. They are a nice upgrade from the wimpy factory pieces. The only downside is they came with polished hardware which stood out way too much against the black, so I painted all the hardware black with frame paint before installing.

I think they're the last mod I'm doing to the bed and they finish it off pretty nicely. I flipped them to hide the branding as it was a little too busy for my taste. They aren't very noticeable from the rear, but they look significantly beefier when you see them from the side view (alsoooo mmmmmm that storage compartment tho).

While the paint was drying, I thought it would be the perfect time to yank out the most obnoxious speaker in the world. No more beep when opening the door now! This was the last super annoying thing about this truck. The silence is beautiful.

Imagine there’s a place in another dimension where they’re trying to figure out where all these damn 10mm sockets are coming from! :annoyed:
