I had forgotten all about the cheap tequila smelling, water down, home brewed sanitizers every place and their mother had

I’d like to think these engines can shrug off a little bit of water unlike a diesel, as long as you don’t submerge it.

I actually picked up my coworker from the shop that was installing a winch on his work truck this morning, and I saw these beauties parked out front.

I saw a friend of mine nearly lock his up hitting a big water pit on the trail after a rain, he had 35s and removed the fender liner and his truck died right in the middle of the pit. Pulled the air filter and it was soaking wet. Started up again without the wet filter in and as far as I know nothing bad came of it. But that air filter definitely saved his ass

I only have experience in deep water with my LX470. Many of my buds have crossed the Buffalo in stock Tacomas, 4Runners, and other 100s.
This is the shallow crossing at 3.75 ft meter reading at St. Joe. Right now, the water is right for crossing. I think Toyota door seals are very good.

I think you have to be a real yahoo to lock one of these motors up in water. We all have our yahoo moments though.

Water is completely incompressible and it really doesn’t take much for it to bend a rod. A few ounces, probably less.

Maybe a very little, such as from rain. But with the amount of air an engine sucks, it’s hard to get just that little from a pool of water
