I'm in the middle of a dobinson 2"ish lift on my 2023 DCLB OR and I'm finding the parking break lines to be too tight to secure to the leafs at full droop with the shock on, i.e. shock limiting droop. Didn't run into this issue on my 2008 DCSB OR nor a buddies 2018 DCSB OR and wasn't expecting it. The front most mount for the parking break cable mounts just above the front leaf mount. 2nd parking break cable is suppose to be mounted to a bracket on the leaf spring. There is no chance the 2nd can be connected on driver nor passenger side even if the front mount is not connected. see pic

If anyone else has run into this issue, what did they do to resolve it? Not connecting it would leave the cable vulnerable to the tire or maybe even the leaf.

I did install stainless steel extended rear brake lines, which would have been too close without them.

pic shows it as a 111 but the appropriate leaf has been added to convert it to a 112.

I would test to see how the cable sits without installing the bracket. If it clears the leaf spring at the full range of travel, then you can cut it off. I’ve installed the bracket at the forward retainer in the past to keep the cable away from leaf springs- so that’s another option.

Thanks for the reply @ghost-ship System is at full droop in the photo. I've thought about drilling and taping the front retainer. The 2nd bracket serves two purposes. 1st as a stand off of the leaf pack and 2nd to keep the cable away from the tire. Ive played with the damn thing for hours now. It is pretty d... annoying there wasn't more play in the cable. The cable is tight all the way to where it breaks out of the bottom of the cab.

You don’t have to drill and tap. Just use the bolt that is holding the retainer together. You may have to enlarge the hole on the bracket a bit- I use a step bit. I’ve done this many times whenever I install suspension and never had an issue. The bracket still keeps the cable away from the leaf pack and tire even if mounted tot he forward retaining clip.
