Issues after getting front brake service done

Report: The noise appears to be gone for the most part. It still squeals a little bit when the breaks are first applied in the morning, but then it goes away. But it's a vast improvement over how loud and constant it was. My guess is the anti-rattle spring was bent out of shape and perhaps contacting the pads, and the rust on the pins were preventing the pads from freely floating from side to side. For now I'll take it.

 

I believe the main idea is to get your brakes hot enough to the point of fading (aka brake fade). So whether that's 30 low speed short stops or 2-3 100mph stops (without actually stopping), it doesn't really matter. Once your brakes start to fade, don't brake any more and let them cool down. Also make sure you don't set your e-brake until everything is cold. Pretty easy!

 

I have not seen instructions stating 100. They state around 60 because the heat generated braking from 60 is greater than 30.

 

Do manufacturers do a bedding procedure on factory brakes? Because those brakes rarely make noise. Dealerships can't have brand new cars making brake noise right off the lot

 

Probably not. I don't know if they put a coating on them. Or if they develop surface rust from sitting.
If it's new, bought quick, then driven, rather than sit for a long time, it's probably not going to start out by making noise.
