I’m using the 1up roof rack mounted to the side of my bed rack. You can also use it to add an extra bike slot on their hitch rack.

I bought the single hitch rack and an add on for the times I needed to transport mine and the wife’s bike (doesn’t happen often). I got all excited a few months back when I saw the roof rack could be converted to an add on for the hitch rack. I reached out to them but unfortunately the it doesn’t work the other way.

Your bed rack is probably about as high as a roof rack will be on the Subaru. Roof rack ordered.

Hard pass. Unless they’re local and willing to meet in person, I’d avoid a user with a brand new account like the plague.

They also say barely ridden but the rear shock isnt what's supposed to be on that bike. I asked him to text me pictures close up and he just uploaded more to the listing. So yea, pass on that one lol.

The trek slash im debating if I want the build with a Zeb or lyrik will suffice. I realistically try to avoid big pedalling days, and if I do then I embrace the idea of I'll get there eventually. So the additional weight doesnt concern me too much.

But that being said, the 2021 9.7 build only has a rhythm 36 and a float x. I could always upgrade to a grip 2 damper and throw an x2 in the rear I guess.

got a sick ride in colorado springs yesterday. rode a new trail i haven't done. it was a little wet but had super traction. real confidence inspiring. there was a set of jumps at the bottom i was scoping out. this kid shows up out of nowhere and asks if i want him to tow me in. sure yea ill do it. i follow him into the jump, he brakes a little much and i slow down too much too, but i might as well follow him through. he ends up getting bucked over the bars and front wheel hits the landing. glad i saw it coming and barely stopped on the lip of the jump.

he got up and wanted me to follow him again. i said nah thats ok. ill come back with a full face and knee pads another time.

well he went and did it. this is that second run in.

i also hit a different gap jump on a different trail ive been eyeing. that enduro race a couple weeks ago got me pumped to do bigger stuff

    My thoughts exactly!

I wish they had those Hell's Gate grips in black or gray. they are so good....

Don't forget to do your Amazon review. Those Worldwide Cyclery guys are pretty cool and we should help them out for helping us out!

So that Rallon I’m looking at isn’t the most recent frame. 2022 did the refresh and all the stuff I was reading last night talked about the 2022+ models even tho I specified 2021. Geo numbers are still close enough to what I want. And realistically, compared to my current bike, it’ll still be wayyyyyy more in line with what I want. 2022 updated bikes are at least 1500$ more for .5 degree slacker head and 1 degree steeper seat. Figure I can just slam the seat forward to feel steeper seat, and if I really feel like it’s not enduro sled enough for me, could always change to 180 front.

It’s an enduro bike but being Orbea it supposedly pedals like a beast. Which I like the idea of for 15 mile Tahoe days since some of the really good stuff on Tahoe rim can’t be shuttled anyway.

Also I’m just thinking, how much of a difference is grip 2 damper make in ride feel if you’re average at bike setup. I’m not great at super tuning. But just thinking with saving so much on the bike I’ll have room for upgrades much sooner

I rode a 2018 Rallon for like 4-5 seasons. I'm pretty sure the 2018 is the same frame as 2021 but you'll probably have the updated rear linkage already installed (I added it after the fact).

It's a fantastic bike! It's plenty slack/modern but pedals great for a long travel bike. I'm not sure the actual reach/effective top tube numbers but it feels pretty compact, so I actually had the seat pushed all the way back and never had an issue with the front lifting on climbs. It's also very nimble and playful for a big bike; easy to get off the ground and slash around. I demo'd the new model and it's quite a bit longer and slacker and more of a pure enduro race bike designed to plow.

I did quite a few 20+ mile rides, as well as park days, on it without any complaints. Only reason I got a new bike is cause I cracked the chainstay and replacement was expensive. I ended up having the carbon repaired and my buddy bought it off me. I'd still be riding it as a park bike with a 180 Zeb and coil shock if he hadn't bought it.

Agreed it feels more like modern “all mountain” sizing

DHx2 and a grip 2 damper up front and prob go to a 170 dropper cus the guy opted for a 150 since he’s shorter and this bike rocks. Cush core in rear already too :)

    2400$

Nice I used to ride an R5 Rallon. It was a great all mountain bike.

good deal too, I sold my frame only, without a shock for $1200.
