I commute that freeway to and from work every day. Can confirm lots of idiots heading both ways every day. Both the type that are a-holes, and the type that are staring at their phones more than the road. Welcome to SoCal (this is in San Diego county more specifically)

actually just about 30 minutes ago oj my way home someone decided they needed to cut me off as we both approached the on-ramp for this exact fwy. They cut me off with about 25 yards ahead of the sharp on-ramp curve, just for them to slam the brakes to enter curve they couldn’t take on at more than 25mph…lol people

I mean clearly the Tacoma was a total D bag here but the car with the dash cam had a pretty extreme reaction.

Need to see the whole video. What happened to lead up to this? Why would someone cut someone off then slam on the brakes for no reason? Obviously not saying I condone this behavior but something is missing….

The dash cam driver needs to retake evasive maneuvers 101. Obviously he didn't check his escape route before trying to use it. If you have to hit something, hit the moving Taco rather than a stationary object.

On the plus side, at least the porta-potty wasn't being used at the time.

Logic...that's what's missing. And the problem is you're trying to apply logic where none exists.

Road rage. It ain't worth the fight. I don't care if you're in the right, back off and deescalate. Or try to express your righteousness against an unjust world and get your shit wrecked. That's an option too.

There are few things worse on American roads than immature and incapable drivers. That taco is 100% at-fault for the brake-checking (which, next to driving in the left lane while not actually passing, should be the second-most-severe penalty on the road). The camera car is at-fault for his/her reaction to the brake check.

As judge, I'd revoke the brake-checker's license for one year. I'd fine the car-cam $500 and waive the fee if they complete a track-day in whatever car they typically drive.

Many folks are under the misconception that if rear-ended, the other car is ALWAYS at fault. Makes them do stupid shit like brake-checking. Also - people who rage in traffic, or otherwise, lack sufficient mental acuity required to drive anyway.

Here's where it starts, for those who cannot see the vid:

You can see the taco merging into the lane of the camera car - from the exit lanes. Just kinda shoves him over.

i don't use IG so i can't see the whole video but lots of people hit the brakes around work crews because there can be a chp nearby and it is the law to yield or slow when you encounter them. the "OR" can be confusing to people so they do both...its like the people in the fast lane that come to a _complete_ stop to cross over 5 lanes. And if you have radar assisted cruise on, that stupid thing engages the brakes at the dumbest times
