@JustDSM I wanted to get your opinion on this setup for idle with larger injectors that maybe I can try with my fic injectors or if I step up to injector dynamics.

Snout cutter arrived, now pending puller and plate to show up.

 

A CNC machine sure would be a handy tool.

Went to a junk yard yesterday to look for parts on my 4runner and Tacoma as well as @Torspd e36.
Only one 4th gen in the yard, engine and trans
already pulled.

I did get the radiator directing flaps for the Tacoma. Still has lca and third member so might come back for those.


3rd gen w/huge oil leak.

Might pulled the supercharger off this mini if cheap enough. Only the head was gone.


Two e36 didn't have usable parts. The yard had lots of newer gm, rams, bmw, etc from this decade. Was impressed. Not a lot of Toyotas, most picked clean.

Got a question for you. Where are the best lift points on the 1gr? Do you need lift brackets or eye bolts of some sort? Surprisingly little information to be found doing the google.

 

There are some provided hole you can use by 1 and 6. Use a rag to protect the coils. You can also fab a lift plate that bolts to the intake manifold as an option.

 

Thanks! I like the idea of fabbling an intake manifold plate so I think that's the route I'll go.

 

Haltech fuse box came it. Very compact. Now I can order my oil psi and temp gauge.

 

So i think I found an aftermarket bumper that has a clean look that follows the oem lines. Unless i can find a good oem rear bumper or another one ill most likely end up with this one. Weight seems about the same.

Lca bushing arrived and lca ball joints on the way. Idk Toyota USA wants to be difficult but can get the ball joints overseas.

 

So strange about the ball joints.

 

Seems to be setup to save time, not money. Buy a unit vs a part and service it.

 

@Lucario Runner I know our setup is far from identical.... but when I bought those LBJs from the UAE, I found that the stud length was different by a little bit. (UAE and JDM lbjs vs USDM lbjs)

When used on my aftermarket spindle/knuckle, I think thread engagement was sketchy and barely enough for the castle nut.

But like I said... it may be moot if you are stock spindle, etc.. just something to know..

 

This is good to know thanks for informing. I'm still on my OEM spindles. So should be fine. I have spare Tacoma lca's just in case.
