I have to say, modded second gens are great looking vehicles.

Sooo I got a very pleasant surprise at work today.

I'm coming up on my 10 year anniversary (hard to believe) and my boss decided to get me a Badland 12k winch! I doubt I'll have time to mount it for this coming weekend, but I had previously narrowed down my winch choice to either that or the new ComeUp Solo 12.5k. Not sure if any of you guys have experience with this winch, but I'll find out how it is soon enough.

That's a very nice anniversary gift! There are a few in the group with the Badlands 12K. Not sure if any of them really put them to work yet though.

That's what I'm here for, the mods and the gear.
I just spent over an hour trying to remove "bottom bolt of drive shaft carrier bearing cross-member." That muther f'in bolt! Anyone have an m12 3/8 impact they want to sell?

Thats the one I use... a lot it seems. Only change I am making is for the synthetic line as I have the cable at the moment. I am happy with it!

Very cool! It's good to know that your employer appreciates you!

Hey, I'm leaving tomorrow and I still have to put my sliders back on. No excuses! :boink:

    Obviously I'm kidding. :D

Appreciate the tip on this one still! It's my favorite thing I've done to it so far, so nice to add all that dry storage in the bed and still be able to flip it out of the way if needed.

Thanks! I still wish it was a first gen since that's where my heart really lies but the 4 door second gen checks a ton of boxes for a daily driver/boat puller/scenic wheeler. Went years with just the Xtra cab first gen and a supercab shortbed F250 before life ballooned and now somehow I've ended up with the CCSB Tacoma and CCLB dually lol.

I've used mine for things it isn't designed to do. Pulling stumps, dropping trees, getting beam supports plumb. It did work well the one time I was high centered.
Does yours have a synthetic line or cable?

The only wrinkle would be getting the appropriate mounting plate for my bumper/vehicle.

Otherwise, I may want your opinion on which battery to hook it up to, being that I have a 24v starter. I'm thinking it shouldn't matter too much, as it'll only be used when the vehicle is running.

Good to hear - it's synthetic line. I do have some large shrubs I'd like to remove...

    They have so many uses!

For shrubs, I'd pick up a cheap recovery strap and use that to wrap around the base of the shrub. This way your winch line doesn't get all nasty.

I feel the need to upgrade my suspension. Among other things...

Check out Sail Life on YouTube. Him and his wife are cruisers now but he spent a number of years living aboard one boat while working on another.
Kinda like this old house for boats

    FIFY

Myspace was a horrible user experience. Color fonts against color backgrounds so you couldn't read anything. Getting blasted with shitty midi music as soon as the page loaded.
Is anyone surprised that FB took off

That is super cool for them to show their appreciation that way.
