Yea installed it myself. Pretty straightforward with the provided instructions. Used a Dremel to cut the plastic for the fairlead. One trick I figured out was to pull the fairlead towards me when doing the final bolt tightening since you cant get a wrench on the other side once the winch is mounted.

Same company who makes the winch mount. SDHQ

By far the best (interior) add on I’ve done. So much cleaner.

I saw the space station the other day when I was on the beach. It was only there for a minute or so. I wonder what kind of leds they use up there. At least here on Tacoma world someone will tell us.

What did you replace it with? Keeping this truck forever. Zero issues...knock on wood.

I totally agree about suffering from OCD and macular degeneration. Getting old certainly sucks. Keeping my autos showroom perfect has always be a hobby for me. Ask my wife how far I park from the store entrance.

Retired airframe power plant mechanic gotta keep me hands busy fiddling with stuff. Just finished replacing the dreaded rodent chewed knock sensor wire harness.

    Cheers.

A 2008 Off Road with 83k miles and a 2012 SR5 with 140k miles and a few grand back in the bank. Never been happier. 2016 was a problem model but I did keep it 5.5 years and put 25k miles on it. Loved it but constant warranty and TSB visits to the dealer killed the love.

Oh, to have the problem of a pitted windshield. Mine rarely get that far. About the time any windshield of mine starts to get pits, it gets a big ol' rock hit and cracks go everywhere. OEM, Safelite...same result (cheap glass is even worse plus you have to deal with a wavy view). Came out a few weeks ago and our Camry windshield replaced 1 year ago was cracked all over (snow, warm day, snow on roof slid down on warm windshield and boom). My Tacoma windshield lasted 600 miles before I had a 12" crack. It's on the passenger side so I'm ignoring it. Windshields in Colorado are like oil changes.

I think the pitting can happen anywhere. If there are any dirt or sand particles in the air (wind or kicked up by tires) and you hit them at 65mph they will make a tiny pit. And then you just collect more and more of them.

Yikes! That’s a lot to deal with!

Used to live in the desert and had all sorts of pitted windshields. I get it. Part of the deal. Some sand storms were so bad they actually made window glass opaque. Removed a lot of paint too.

The weird thing about our Taco’s windshield is that it’s not pitted at all. Smooth as can be. But when the light hits it just right it’s like @Cement_wheels said, all sorts of tiny imperfections, like they're embedded in the glass. Guess it's time for a new windshield. Just hope it doesn't have the same issue.
