Ok, I’m installing new speakers in my 23 TRD Sport (non-JBL). I’ve read, and obviously heard, that the rear 6.5” are basically useless because the OEM head unit send most of the signal power to the front door 6x9’s. So my question is, is it possible to split the rear right and left speaker wiring behind the head unit and tap them into the right and left front outputs? What would this do? Over load anything or underpower all 4 because I’d drawing 4 speakers off output meant for 2? I’m sure this is a stupid question but just a thought.

Drop the ohm impedance from 4 to 2 ohms on all speakers. Bonus is, it’ll be a bit louder. Bad side is you burn out the amp in the headunit.

so little power is sent to the rear that it really isnt worth replacing the speakers without aftermarket headunit and/or an amp. my opinion anyways.
