There was a cool looking creek but there was so much dead fall from a decades old forest fire that fishing was almost impossible. I did try. And promptly fell on my ass in the mud. Just glad I didn’t fall in the water - some of the holes looked to be 8’ or more deep.
    IMG_0313.jpg
    IMG_0344.jpg

started with muddy feet trying to undo a snag
    IMG_0327.jpg
    escalated quickly from there
    IMG_0329.jpg
so I took my 2nd shower of the day and put the fishing gear away
Then that night I had to fight off a deer. Freaking thing snuck up on me while I was at my fire and wouldn’t leave. 100% someone’s been feeding her. We circled the campfire a couple of times in a stand off and then I bonked her on the nose with my fire poker which is a 3’ long 1/4” steel rod with a steel hook and point that my dad made for me. Pretty hefty thing. She finally got the message and left me alone after that.

Good morning friends. The smoke from the Canadian wildfires was really thick yesterday. Looked like a fog all day - no sun to be seen. More on tap today. Stayed inside all day, yesterday, to keep from having an asthma attack. Played the guitar instead. Made sure to plug in the amp so that the neighbors new I was practicing. :D

Maybe the following is TMI but I thought I would share: I also finally received a call from Yale and will be receiving intensive outpatient treatment for my depression. Yup - I admit that’s what’s been going on. It’s been very difficult but just keep swimming. Of course, my return date back to work is coming up on the 19th. I guess the FMLA will either be extended full or partial.

Shoulder and elbow are also better. Having time to go to physical therapy helped.

    :hattip:Good morning

The smoke from the wildfires in Canada is pretty bad in this area of upstate NY.

Another day of packing up and then I have to leave for Georgia tomorrow morning.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

    Good Morning!
Yes, this smoke/smog is thick. The news said it's the worst air quality in over 20 years.
Makes me wonder what was the cause of poor air quality in the past?
I'm keeping my COPD ass indoors next to the Mila air purifier!

    Good Morning RocketMan
I say sharing here shows great confidence. I'm glad you are taking care of yourself and seeking treatment. I wish you all best, keep swimming, it makes you stronger and each stroke will get easier day by day.

Thank you. It’s been a very tough row to hoe. A month ago, I was put on a new medication. Very bad things started going through the mind. I recognized that and stopped the new and improved meds. Had my cousin store all of the pop sticks for me and sought out more advanced help. My daughter - she keeps me going.
