Like all non plug-in hybrids, the battery is charged through regenerative braking and by the internal combustion engine.

    There, it’s been discussed lol

Agreed, I think the Ranger looks good but the '24 Tacoma smokes it.

Different platforms aside, this has to give them pretty decent insight onto
Agree - the amount of torque they are claiming sounds very nice. Combined with the 8spd I can’t imagine how it is going to feel compared to my 2018.

At what RPM does the Ford 3.0 liter raptor get that horsepower and torque? I know the i-force max gets what it states at 1700 RPM from what Toyota says.

it is funny to see people dismissing the 2.4T hybrid with absolutely no data. Toyota arguably has best hybrid powertrain and I think Tesla/EV powertrain have proven electric motors are quite capable of making power.

also keep a turbo at peak psi and watch heat build, EGT go up power goes down. so any power train getting overwork will tail off power.

I don't like it but maybe it'll grow on me. Every time I see this thing I can't help but think it looks like the taurus. Flat sides with high doors.

I read a comment on here that called the Ranger "the Taurus of pick ups" and now I can't look at one and not think that.

I think that when most people think of anything electric on a vehicle drivetrain, they immediately think of a 1980's experimental European EV that had a top speed of 35 MPH (going downhill) and a range of 7 miles.

It's like the last 35 years never happened.

One of these drivetrains has been up and down the Baja peninsula.

Time and punishment will determine the quality and reliability of the new Hybrid-turbo-4cyl.

Right...because Toyota is a bottom tier car manufacture that lacks the funds to properly research, test, and develop their vehicles. Ford is the pinnacle of reliability.

It’s not just the about the specs. People come on here claiming a truck that’s not out has gimmick features as if Toyota hasn’t been making those gimmicky non plug in hybrids since the 90s.

Happy to internet disagree, but again, Ford drivetrain has cut its teeth, the other it new technology.

And dont get me wrong, the 3.5 twin turbo ford engine has some SEROIUS problems, but that chassis has been proven.

I'll take my chances on the Toyota then if those are my two choices. Also, your second sentence confirms my choice lol.

I'll let the Guinea pigs sort it out for me, I'm more of a second wave type buyer anyways.
