Looks like our options are really limited. I noticed one of my springs looks broken. I’m really interested in the general spring Kc heavy duty but don’t think they make anymore since it’s been out of stock for a while. Found a store named springworks that appears to have heavy duty but they’re selling them 50$ more expensive per side. I checked out OME but says we have to custom fit them. I’ll just buy the non HD from general springs worst case scenario on Monday. What are your experiences for these 95.5 - 97 models

update on the CS018R OME Springs,

So I called OME and they said they don't make a spring pack for the 1995-1997 tacoma trucks,
The CS018R springs pack is actually for a Hilex pickup

These springs can be used for the 1995-1997 single cab BUT need to be modified.

The hillex weight is 4500 lbs and the single cab is 3200lbs.

So if you install the complete 6 leaf pack you will have a 4" lift or so in the back.
So if you want a 3.5" - 4" lift these will work or if you plan on 300-500 pounds in the bed they will work.
Im shooting for 2" lift in the back with kings up front that give the front 2" lift.

Passage side I removed the 3rd spring from the top and 2 of the overload springs and this gave me my 2" lift at the rear and now im level.
On the drivers side I removed the 3rd spring from the top and ONE overload spring so the drivers side is raised the thickness of the smaller overload spring 1/2" to help off set the taco lean.

It rides very smoothly now and adding 400 pounds of gear flexes the rear about an inch or so down

happy with the outcome and finally leveled!
Below are the 2 springs I removed from the original 6 leaf pack

    2” lift with kings upfront

Thank you. I’m going to bite the bullet and go with the generalkc, I called them earlier and they said they don’t know if and when they’ll have more of the heavy duty springs :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed: . Ok so I’ll need 2 new shackles and 2 new u bolts, correct?

@FinsFan909 How did these springs work out for you? I'm looking for replacements for my '97 but don't really want to be taking OME leaf packs apart, but maybe that's the best option since options are dwindling. @1997tacomav6 are you still happy with the modified OMEs?

I'm super happy, yes, nice ride and can take 400 pounds easily.
I have a small rake that I wanted.
I added jba a few weeks ago .
FINALLY have the ride I want

But I have to add a 1/2" block on the drivers side to get rid of the taco lean

Not bad. This whole time I thought they made the leaf springs but they’re just a middle man. If you google the part number you will find different vendors. Both sides of my old leaf springs were broken so I didn’t have a choice and wanted them as quickly as possible. I have a camper shell on my truck and haven’t had any problems with it. The previous owners of my truck apparently didn’t do any maintenance on the truck so I’ve been replacing parts one by one plus it’s over 27 years old but I knew what I was getting myself into when I bought it

Rad, I see the part numbers basically match up on the General Spring website and Rock Auto's offerings of Dorman, Dayton, Husky, and "various manufactures". However, general springs lists the left side as 90173 (on rock auto as HD) and the right side as 90171 (non HD). If you remember, I'm just curious what you got. Did you get a specific left and right side, or a pair of the same part number?

My springs are shot. One is inverted, the other shaped like a W.

When you get them installed there’s a good chance you will need a block to offset the gas tank weight that is hung on the drivers side if the part numbers are the same not having a stronger spring to offset the tank weight IF the taco lean bothers you

Sorry to threadjack, but @1997tacomav6 would you mind sharing what 1/2" block you end up using up front to fix your taco lean?

I just ordered some custom alcans (3" lift) and am asking them to build the driver side stronger to accommodate the gas tank weight, but want to fix the lean from the front as well. Currently running Toytec 3" lift coils with 5100s up front and the Taco lean bugs the crap out of me.

I have kings up front, they are adjustable to get an even height so no block needed.
The block was for the rear drives side and I had a suspension shop put it in from their inventory

Gotcha, my 5100s only have 3 height settings and I think the next one up will totally over-correct my lean, so I may have to find a real small front spacer for mine. Thanks for clarifying though

I live on a steep hill so I wouldn’t be able to tell if it leans lol. Unrelated but it appears my flex plate has taken a dump and my truck sounds terrible. Mechanic not available until Tuesday

I am using the CS019R on my lifted ex-cab. Don't think they work on reg cab tho
Little higher than I wanted but with my truck loaded down w/ tools levels it out which is excellent.
also make sure your pinion angle is good.
I used 2.5degree shims but I think I really could have used 3.0. I didn't want to drop the carrier bearing, but, ended up doing some small adjustments w/ quarter sized washers to get me good.
U bolts by Torch Off Road.
    also a front diff drop
After driving that around for a few weeks all my OG linkage boots blew. So replaced those as the new angle and old boots didn't play well
